The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach offers a unique program that allows the public to adopt a sea turtle from their sea turtle rehabilitation and research center. The Adaptation Program helps to benefit the continued care for sick and injured sea turtles. The program helps provide food, medications, hospital care, and tank maintenance required for their care while at the center. 

The beaches in our area are popular every March through October during the Sea Turtle Nesting Season. Along the 9.5 miles of sand, thousands of sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand making Juno Beach one of the most populated nesting areas in the world. Every Wednesday in the month of June, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their weekly Five Flags Over Jupiter Inlet Event. The event includes a guided tour to learn about the rich military history of the Jupiter Lighthouse. 

The Five Branches of the United States Armed Forces have contributed more than 150 years to the history of the iconic red lighthouse. 

Space is limited to 20 people per week and those who attend will learn about how the Army constructed the Lighthouse before the Civil War, the history of a WWII Naval Building, personal stories of the Coast Guard Lighthouse Keepers, and much more. 

The event is free with the purchase of general admission.

The Flagler Museum, formally known as Whitehall, is a grand estate that features more than 100,000 square feet filled with some of the most important history of Palm Beach Island and the Gilded Age. The grand estate is one of the many famous landmarks and homes located on Palm Beach. 

The home was commissioned by Henry M Flagler, an American Industrialist and founder of Standard Oil, for his wife Mary as a wedding gift.

Flagler asked John Carrere and Thomas Hastings to design and build the grand estate. Carrere and Hastings were famous architects during the Gilded Age and were also the architects for other famous landmarks in New York City such as The New York Public Library and The Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

With the school year coming to an end, Palm Beach County is filled with fun, family friendly activities to do to stay busy this summer. Lion Country Safari is one of Palm Beach County’s Top Attractions and is one of the only drive-through and walk-through safari’s and amusement parks. 

Lion Country Safari is located in western Palm Beach County and is situated on more than 600 acres of land with over 1000 animals from six continents throughout the safari’s seven sections. Some notable animals roaming around include lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, zebras, white rhinos, and much more. For the entire month of May, Palm Beach County is dedicated at celebrating culture and art in the county. MOSAIC is back this May with events, shows, art, and culture all month long. 

MOSAIC stands for Month of Shows, Art, Ideas, and Culture and it takes place at several locations around Palm Beach County. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy special discounts and deals at many local attractions. 

MOSAIC is put together every year by the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. The Council was formed in 1978 and has since evolved to be a strong local arts advocate. Palm Beach County is known as Florida’s Cultural Capital and this month its all about more.

Today, Friday, May 5th is Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory of the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862.  The Mexican Army was led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, the victory was a morale boost for the Mexicans. 

Cinco de Mayo is typically celebrated by parades, celebrations, live music, food, battle reenactments, folkloric dancing, and is honored and celebration by millions around the world. 

Several restaurants in our area are celebrating Cinco de Mayo by hosting live music, delicious authentic foods, drink specials, and much more.
