One of Palm Beach Island’s most exclusive estates is open for the public to tour and to learn about the history of Palm Beach and the fabulous Gilded Age.  The Flagler Museum, formerly known as Whitehall, was home to Henry M. Flagler and his wife Mary. Flagler was an American Industrialist, one of the founders of Standard Oil, and one of Palm Beach Island’s founders.

The famous Palm Beach landmark features more than 100,000 square feet filled with some of the most important history of Palm Beach and the Gilded Age.  The estate was commissioned by Flagler to be a winter home for himself and his wife Mary as a wedding gift in 1902. The estate served as the couple’s winter retreat until his death in 1913.

One of South Florida’s most popular Independence Day celebrations, the 4th on Flagler is returning to in person celebrations after last year’s celebrations were held virtually. West Palm Beach City officials announced yesterday the popular Palm Beach County event is returning and fireworks will light up the sky to celebrate Independence Day on Sunday, July 4th.

This 4th of July head down to downtown West Palm Beach for a grand firework display and the holiday celebrations. The 4th on Flagler will feature refreshments, live entertainment, the inaugural Bill Bone 5K, a patriotic salute, a car show, and a spectacular fireworks display over the intracoastal just after 9 pm to finish the night.

On Wednesday evenings, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their weekly Lighthouse Sunset Tour. The tour is a chance for locals and visitors to witness the incredible sunset view from the top of the lighthouse.

Gather your friends and family and head to the Jupiter Lighthouse tomorrow evening and witness the sunset and watch the light turn on to illuminate the sky. Visitors on the tour will get a sneak peek inside the Lighthouse Watchroom to see how everything works.

Tickets are required for the event and costs $25 dollars per person or $20 dollars per Lighthouse Member. The tours last approximately an hour.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts a Public Guided Tour for the public to get a sneak peek inside the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center. The tours are offered several times a day and a special Hospital Edition Tour is offered on select nights.

During the tours, visitors will learn about each sea turtle patients housed in the center and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff will be there to answer any questions about the ocean, marine life, sea turtles, and the center.

The tours are offered twice a day at 12 pm and again at 2 pm. The tours last approximately an hour and additional tours are added on Saturday’s and Sunday’s at 11 am and 1 pm.
