On Friday and Saturday nights, local restaurants located within Downtown Abacoa bring their tables outdoors for a special Open-Air Dining event. The event started last year and has gained popularity every sense.

The Open-Air Weekend feature live music and great food in the streets along Town Center Drive. The Open-Air Dining event begins at 4 pm to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday nights this May.  Restaurants located within Downtown Abacoa include Aquazure Restaurant and Bar, Bahama Bucks, Freshii, Brick and Barrel Gastro Pub, Crux Coffee Roaster, Civil Society Brewing Company, Copacabana, Costello’s Trattoria, Das Beer Garden, Hokkaido Hibachi and Sushi, JJ Muggs Stadium Grill, and Jumby Bay Island Grill.

Mother’s Day is an annual holiday that is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. The day is to celebrate and honor mothers, a tradition that dates back to the early 1900’s. The first known Mother’s Day was celebrated on May 9th 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson declared the day and asked Americans to give a public ‘thank you’ to their mothers and all mothers.

The Town of Jupiter recently released information about how to register your child for the Summer Youth Camps this year. Beginning next week, parents or guardians can go online and enter a lottery to register for camp.

The Lottery Registration will be online beginning Tuesday, May 11th through Thursday, May 13th by using the town’s registration system. Due to the reduced camp capacity, the Summer Youth Camp Lottery will only be available to Jupiter residents only.

Every Saturday morning, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts their Self-Guided Beach Clean Up for the public to help keep our beaches in Palm Beach County clean. Now more than ever, the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center needs your help.

Sea Turtle Nesting Season begins in early March and go until the end of October. The 9.5 miles span between the northern Palm Beach County line to the northern boundary of John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is where thousands of sea turtles lay their eggs.  This area is one of the most populated sea turtle nesting areas in the world. This weekend, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their Outstanding Natural Area Family Day. Families can explore nature and history at the Lighthouse’s Outstanding Natural Area.

Families will be able to visit the museum, the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, Historic grounds, Keeper’s Workshop exhibit, and a chance to climb to the top of the Jupiter Lighthouse. The lighthouse tower has 105 steps to the top and children must be 48 inches tall to climb the lighthouse and be accompanied by an adult.

On Monday nights, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their weekly Twilight Yoga at the Light. All are welcomed to come and enjoy the peace and serenity of Yoga with the incredible sunset views.

The class is outside and is taught by Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck. The class is open to all level of yoga and everyone is encouraged to attend. The class is $10 dollars and those who wish to participate in the class are asked to bring them own yoga mat and water bottle.

Every Sunday, Jupiter’s Harbourside Place hosts two reoccurring events along the waterfront. The outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment center close the street along the intracoastal for the public to enjoy the day.

Stroll along the intracoastal for a day of shopping local artisan and homemade goods. The market is every Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Town of Jupiter has decided to continue to bring Jupiter U to the residents and community by going virtual this year. Jupiter U includes a series of short films and tours of Jupiter’s landmarks and areas throughout Jupiter.

The tours highlight the important facts and aim to educate the residents about their local government and our unique beach town. The virtual tours are available for the public to watch on demand now. The tour videos can be watched in any order but recommended that the first video be the welcoming video with Jupiter’s Mayor Todd Wodraska. In the welcoming video, the Mayor gives an overview of the program and provides updates for the ongoing and upcoming projects happening in Jupiter.

Recently, the Town of Jupiter has added and installed clean up stations at local parks to help the environment by reducing the number of debris and litter in our town.

The project is part of Jupiter’s partnership with Beach Bucket Foundation. The mission of the project is to create awareness and community involvement in helping the preservation of our local beaches and ocean. The town’s council identified clean up areas and more activities along the waterfront and local parks as one of their initiatives this year.

Waterfront Properties has sponsored clean up buckets at four local clean up stations. Visitors can grab a bucket from the station and help pick up litter and debris while they enjoy the park or walk along the beach. Once the bucket is…
