The 13th Annual Festival of Tree and Lights is back in Stuart this past week and weekend. The free weeklong festival features more than 75 decorated tree, wreaths, and holiday centerpieces. The Festival is held at the Flagler Center this week until November 21st.

The festival will include Storytime with Mrs. Claus, auctions, cooking classes and other events held throughout the day.

Friday, November 20th:

7:30 am to 9 am: Stuart, Martin, and Palm City Chambers of Commerce Breakfast

11 am to 5 pm: Trees, Wreaths, and Holiday Décor Viewing- this is open to the public and is free to attend.

6:30 pm to 8 pm: “A Not So Silent Night” Live Auction and Cocktail Party- tickets must be purchased in advance.

The Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society has partnered together with Florida Power and Light Company to present Zoo Lights this holiday season.

Zoo Lights has quickly became a South Florida holiday tradition for families and friends. After hours, while the animals are sleeping, the Palm Beach Zoo will be illuminated for the holiday season. The zoo will be decorated with over 1 million eco-friendly lights every night.

Zoo Lights will be aglow from 6 pm to 9 pm with unique lights and theme displays from the entrance through the Florida Wetlands, Tropics of Americas and new to this year, Asia. Santa will be stopping by this year through December 23rd for your photo opportunity. Zoo Lights will feature special animal encounters and special treats.

Every day the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts several events for the public to learn more about the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center and marine life. On Saturday mornings, the center hosts a Kids Fishing Program aimed for children ages 8 through 12.

Participants in the Fishing Program will learn the techniques and tricks to fishing from the Juno Beach Pier. The program will teach and explain the concepts of fishing, casting, fish handling, knot tying, and the proper catch and release techniques.  The program will also include information on how to be ethical anglers and reduce their impact on marine life.

The city of West Palm Beach is hosting their annual Seafood Festival this weekend at the South Florida Fairgrounds. The festival is a seafood enthusiast’s dream come true.

The family-friendly event will feature nautical vendors with unique merchandise, craftsman’s and artists displaying their original artwork and pieces, live music and entertainment, rides, a kid’s zone, a full service bar, and of course all the seafood you can ever imagine.  The seafood is fresh and cooked several different ways onsite.

This November, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting a list of calendar events for the whole family to enjoy. Head to the iconic lighthouse this month and join in on the fun filled events.

Lighthouse Sunset Tour: Wednesday, November 4th, 11th, and 18th

Climb to the top of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse on Wednesday nights and take advantage of the spectacular sunset views and watch the lighthouse turn on to illuminate the sky. In addition, visitors will get an inside look at the Lighthouse Watchroom to see how everything works and learn the history of the lighthouse along the way. The tours last approximately an hour and tickets must be purchased online prior to the event.  The tours start at 4:45 pm.

In early 2020, the Martin County Golf Course began renovations to the course and a name change. The new course is now called “Sailfish Sands” and the new course is going to be bolder, innovative, and more unique, nothing like any other course in Martin County.

Earlier this week, the Martin County Parks and Recreation Director announced that he went before the County Commission to update them on the progress of the massive project and to ask for additional funding. The director and course asked for $3 million dollars more which will bring the complete renovation cost to around $8 million dollars and the county approved the changes during the meeting. Every Saturday morning, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center encourages locals and visitors to participate in their Self-Guided Beach Cleanups. The Self-Guided Beach Clean-Up is a new program this year and has been added to their weekly calendar.

Head to the beach on Saturday mornings, and while you are there stop by the Marine Debris Sorting Station on the back deck of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center to pick up the beach up supplies. Once the supplies are picked up, volunteers can make their way down to the beach and help keep our beaches clean and the sea turtles safe. When finished, bring your bag back to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center Sorting Station and receive a free t-shirt for helping.

Twilight Yoga at the Light: Monday, October 26th at 7 pm

This upcoming Monday, October 26th, bring your yoga mat and enjoy the peace and serenity of Yoga on the Lighthouse Deck at sunset. The outdoor yoga class is taught by Mary Veal and is every Monday night, All levels of yoga are welcomed to attend and bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, and a flash light. The cost is $10 dollars per person, and you are asked to pre-register online prior to the event.
