Registration is now open for the 2020 Garden of Life Palm Beaches Marathon this December 2020. The race is still a few months away but now is the time to reserve your spot. The event is not just a marathon, but a weekend long event filled with a half marathon, 5K, 10K, marathon relay, marathon, special events, live music, fireworks, and much more.

The race is expected to take place this December 2020 along the waterfront of West Palm Beach and throughout the downtown area. Registration is now open for the 17th annual event and the race is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.

The Kravis Center For Performing Arts in West Palm Beach has announced its 2020/2021 Kravis On Broadway Season Productions. This year, Kravis On Broadway is filled with some of the newest and most popular musicals.

Starting this upcoming January, seven musicals and plays will be hitting the stage in West Palm Beach. The box office is currently closed due to an expansion project, ticket sales will be announced at a later date.

Head to The Royal Poinciana Plaza on Saturdays during the month of September and October for their new event, "Shop To Table Outdoor Shopping Series".

Shops and boutiques located within the Royal Poinciana Plaza move their store outside for fresh air and the Palm Beach sunshine. During the al-fresco shopping series, clothes, shoes, and merchandise line the terrazzo and courtyards with exclusive offers and shopping deals.

The event takes place every Saturday throughout the month of September and October for a fun day of shopping. On the third Saturday of every month, there is live music in partnership with Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.

Over the weekend, Downtown Delray Beach and the city’s Downtown Development Authority transformed Old School Square into a pop-up dining area. The new outdoor dining area is called “Distanced Dining in the Park”.

The new pop-up area allows people to take out from local downtown Delray Beach restaurants and head to Old School Square for outdoor dining.  People can pick up their food and drinks and safety eat in a socially distanced and open-air area.

The open-air dining area is equipped with hand washing stations and hand sanitizer stations and is filled with outdoor music and lighting. The area can and tables set up, can seat up to 80 people.

Under an emergency order last week, all county-operated park playgrounds, water playgrounds, play and exercise equipment, water fountains, and volleyball courts are officially able to reopen.

Under a notice issued by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department, people are being told to "wear a mask if you can" at playgrounds. Palm Beach County’s emergency order only applies to county operated playgrounds. Individual municipalities can then decide if they want to open city-operated playgrounds as well.

Skate parks and bicycle tracks may reopen "with supervision as determined by park management." Campgrounds may begin taking reservations for stays on or after Oct. 1, 2020, and supervised sports facilities with lights may be open after…

School is back in session for students in the Palm Beach County School District. Students go back to school today, Monday, August 31st.

The start of the new school year looks a little different compared to previous years. The school district announced in late July that the school district was going completely virtual for the start of the new 2020/2021 school year.

In effort to help the students, teachers, parents, and guardians adjust to virtual learning, the school district set up several hotlines and online resources for students and teachers to use.

Once a month, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their reoccurring Lighthouse Moonrise Tour. September’s Moonrise tour is happening this Wednesday, September 2nd.

Those who attend the Moonrise Tour this Wednesday night will learn about the history of the Jupiter Lighthouse while enjoying the views of Jupiter and the full moon. The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes and the tours are weather permitting. Be sure to check their website for more information for updates.

The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival’s annual Shakespeare By The Sea has been an annual festival in the Palm Beaches for more than 29 years. This year, the festival is still going on, but it will be a little different. The festival will be going virtual in 2020.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the festival and to celebrate 30 years, the production this year will be “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.  The festival is currently going on now starting Friday, August 21st through Labor Day weekend, the first weekend in September. The festival is free, and the performances are available to watch and stream through the theater company’s website.
