Since the beginning of March, travel plans have be changed due to the spread of the pandemic. Florida’s Theme parks are currently closed until further notice for visitors but you can still visit the parks online and take a virtual tour or ride from the comfort of your own home.

Take A Virtual Bike Ride Along The Palm Beach Lake Trail:  The virtual bike ride was posted to The Palm Beaches Instagram page a few weeks ago. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is currently closed to visitors but school children from across Jupiter and South Florida will have the opportunity to learn about the state’s rich natural history online.  

The online history classes will be led by the children’s book author Harvey Oyer III, Oyer will expand on the stories in his beloved The Adventures of Charlie Pierce series. Many schools in Palm Beach County use Oyer’s books as part of the history curriculum. 

The online classes are aimed for fourth graders but all are welcomed to watch the videos and use the resources. The segments include PowerPoint’s, crossword, coloring sheets, word search, biography, educational videos and more all available online.

The State of Florida has recently announced this week that schools will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year and students will continue with virtual learning. In Palm Beach County, the last official day for students is Friday, May 29th. 

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 and Florida being in a Stay at Home order until further notice, Florida schools have turned to virtually Graduation Ceremonies for the 2019-2020 Class Seniors.  This week, the Palm Beach County School District released the dates for the virtual graduation ceremonies for seniors in county schools.

Researchers have conducted that if children take a lengthy break from learning they will not only miss out on learning new information but also can lose up to three months of math and reading skills learned in the previous months.  

Due to the current situation in the world, living rooms have turned into schools, home offices and workout facilities.  Florida’s Department of Education released a statement that all schools will remained closed and students will continue virtual learning until the end of the school year.

The Palm Beach Boat Show is one of the largest boat shows and one of the Top 5 Boat Shows to attend in the United States. The show was originally scheduled for March of this year but was postponed until May and now the popular boat show has announced on their social media page and website that they will be going virtual. 

The virtual Palm Beach Boat Show will be online with nearly 500 premier exhibitors and will be launching on Thursday, May 14th.

Two local Zoo’s and Safari’s in Palm Beach County are currently closed to the public due to COVID-19 but are active on their websites and social media pages by posting pictures and videos of the animals for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.  

The Lion Country Safari, located in western Palm Beach County is known as Florida’s largest walk through and drive through Safari and has won numerous awards and recognitions for being one of Palm Beach County’s Top Attractions.  The safari is home to over 900 animals that roam freely among the 600 plus acres and is said to be the first cage-less zoo in the United States. While the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach may be temporarily closed to the public, the staff is working hard to host live virtual demonstrations, classes and to give you the updates on the sea turtle currently at the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center. 

Every week day at 2 pm and weekends at 11 am the center hosts their daily virtual class from their virtual coastal classroom.  Every day the class is different and focuses on either sea turtles, marinelife, research and rehabilitation process, the center, ocean conservation and much more.
