Every Thursday morning at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center hosts their ArtSEA Kid’s Painting Class until the end of April.

The weekly art class begins at 10:30 am on Thursday mornings. The class is designed to help introduce basic sea turtle conservation and biology in young children. The art class is geared toward children ages 3 to 5 years old.

The class begins with a brief introduction and ocean-themed story that includes a hands-on activity after the painting class. Those who attend will have the opportunity to take home their painted sea turtles to remember to class by.

Rapids Water Park, one of Palm Beach County’s most popular attraction is opening for the Spring and Summer season this weekend. Rapids Water Park is the largest water park in all of South Florida with more than 30 acres of waterslides, pools, splash zones, and much more. Last year, the park celebrated its 40th Anniversary.

The water park is divided into three sections: Thrill Rides, Kid’s Zone and Family Zones. The Thrill Ride section features some of the biggest waterslides in the park with big twists and turns, 45-degree angle drops and two 70-foot-high enclosed flume water slides. Head to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum this weekend for their popular Hike Through History event.

Hike Through History includes a 2- mile journey through the 120 acres of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area. Along the hiking journey, guests will have a chance to learn about the history and the grounds that was shaped by nature.

The hike is open to all and children must be 5 years old or older and accompanied by an adult to attend. Hiking gear such as active wear clothing, proper hiking footwear, a hat, sunscreen and a full bottle or canteen of water are suggested for the hike.

Head to Constitution Park in Tequesta on the first Friday every month for their reoccurring Food Truck Pow Wow event.

The giant outdoor picnic is a great way to mix and mingle with your neighbors and friends and enjoy delicious food from local and regional food trucks and fun activities. The Food Trucks will be lined up in Constitution Park this Friday night from 5 pm to 9 pm.

The night will also include live music and entertainment to help kick off the weekend. For the event nearby Dover Road will be closed for the Food Truck Pow Wow.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their popular reoccurring Ocean Explorers After Dark event for children.

Come and experience the sea turtle rehabilitation and research center after hours for an extended hour event and the opportunity for a hands-on experience for children to explore the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The program is aimed for children ages 6 to 10 years old and each month the program features a different unique theme.

The night will include a tour of the Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, a chance to participate and engage in interactive activities and lessons and of course pizza. The program is a drop off only program and the drop off time is from 5:30 pm to 6 pm and the pickup time is from 9 pm to 9:30 pm.

The iconic Palm Beach mansion and museum is one of the most famous landmarks and homes on Palm Beach Island. The Flagler Museum, or formally known as Whitehall, is a grand elegant estate that features more than 100,000 square feet filled with some of the most important Palm Beach history.

The home was commission by the American Industrialist Henry Flagler as a wedding gift to his wife Mary. Flagler, the founder of Standard Oil commissioned John Carrere and Thomas Hastings to build and design the grand estate. Hastings and Carrere were also the architects for other famous landmarks such as the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City and the New York Public Library during the Gilded Age.

Gather the family and enjoy a fun-filled day at MacArthur Beach State Park at the 24th Annual NatureScaping.

There will be something for everyone in the family to enjoy, from children’s crafts, live animal shows, a Kayak obstacle course, door prizes and more! There will also be exhibitors, environmentally-themed vendors, Florida native plants for sale and food trucks.

Every Monday evening, The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their popular Twilight at the Light yoga event. The event takes place at sunset at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum’s grounds.

All are welcomed to come and join in on the serenity of the yoga class taught by Mary Veal of Breathe Salt Yoga in Jupiter. The class is taught on the Lighthouse Deck at begins at sunset approximately at 6 pm.

If you plan on attending, please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle and a flashlight to the class. The outdoor yoga class is weather dependent, check their website for updates if weather is bad. Due to the popularity to the event, you are asked to arrive early and meet 10 minutes prior to the classes start time at the Museum’s Flagpole.

The 2020 Sea Turtle Nesting Season is set to begin March 1st and last until October 31st and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is hoping for another record-breaking season. The beaches of Juno Beach will be monitored daily during this time and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center and Juno Beach support nearly 5 percent of the world’s loggerhead sea turtles.

Along the 9.5 miles of sandy shoreline, thousands of sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand. The nests usually contain about 100 eggs in each and requires 45 to 60 days to hatch roughly. Juno Beach is one of the most populated sea turtle nesting areas in the world. The main reason is being so close to the gulf stream current that bends toward Florida and its close proximity to the Sargasso…
