Ralph H Norton and his wife Elizabeth founded The Norton Museum of Art in 1941. Ralph Norton was an industrialist in Chicago who headed the Acme Steel Company. The museum came about because him and his wife used to collect items and art to decorate their home.

The couple began spending more time in Palm Beach County when they were semi-retired in 1935. Not knowing what to do with their giant art collection, the two decided to create their own museum in West Palm Beach. Construction first began on the Norton Gallery and the School of Art in 1940 and opened a year later to the public in February of 1941.

The 2019-2020 season of Kravis on Broadway features a series of Tony-Awarding Winning Broadway Musicals filled with high energy performances, popular musical numbers from the nations top touring Broadway shows.

Live Nation, the world’s largest event and venue operator and promotor announced yesterday that the Coral Sky Amphitheater located at the South Florida Fair Grounds has been renamed. The West Palm Beach music venue has been renamed to the iTHINK Financial Amphitheater.

Since opening more than 24 years ago, the music venue has gone through six different venue names. The most recent names were the Perfect Sky Amphitheatre, the Coral Sky Amphitheater and now most recently the iTHINK Financial Amphitheater.

iTHINK Financial Amphitheater announced yesterday that they have a deal with Live Nation to become the new name in title sponsor of the amphitheater for several years.

The popular Broadway Musical Hamilton is coming to Kravis Center in West Palm Beach this January. Hamilton is set to take over the Kravis Center Tuesday, January 28th through Sunday, February 16th and tickets are selling out quick.

The Tony-Award Winning Musical opened on Broadway in August 2015 and is continuing to sell out every show. The musical tells the story of the American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through music and show tunes. Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and later became America’s first Treasury Secretary.

The musical is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes long with a 15-minute intermission. Tickets are still available to purchase.

The Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society teams up with Florida Power and Light for the holiday light display at the zoo. The light display is called Zoo Lights and happens every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Night during the month of December.

The new holiday tradition is for all and includes over one million eco-friendly holiday lights scattered around the Palm Beach Zoo. The holiday lights will be illuminated starting at 6 pm until 10 pm on certain nights during the week. The front entrance will feature unique themed displays of the Florida Wetlands and the Tropics of the Americas.
