If you live in Hobe Sound or Stuart come out to the Hobe Sound Nature Center at 9:30am to explore the sand pine scrub, coastal hammock and shores of Indian River Lagoon. You can expect to see gopher tortoises, scrub lizards, manatees, eagles, ospreys and other wildlife along the way!

This is a perfect, laid back event for families and those looking to explore and learn about local, South Florida Wildlife.

The group will meet in the exhibit hall to learn about the flora and fauna that call the Indian River Lagoon, coastal hammock and sand pine scrub their home.

This Saturday the Flying Fish Paddle Sports is hosting a Spring Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Challenge in Stuart. The event has two features, the first is an Elite 7-mile race, which is open to experienced paddlers only and a more casual “Open” race which is only 3-mile which can be entered into by anyone.

Races will start promptly at 9:00am, race day registration will be from 7:30am to 8:30am. Race fee includes a t-shirt, lunch and beverages. There will be a $250 winner takes all prize for both the men's and women's 7 Mile race and awards will be given to the top three overall in gender and age, for the 7 and 3 mile race. This week in Wellington there are plenty of events for you to attend including a Food Truck and Concert Series, Family Movie Night and a Green Market.

Tomorrow Thursday, March 28th the Wellington Amphitheater hosts its monthly Food Truck and Live Concert Series. Starting at 5 pm, the food trucks line up and prepare some of their best foods for you to enjoy. The food trucks range from burgers, seafood, pastries, desserts, tacos, Asian and much more. All are welcomed to come and enjoy some great food for your local food trucks. Force-E Scuba Center is hosting a night dive under the Blue Heron Bridge this coming Saturday.

Recommended equipment: primary light, back up light and tank light.

Required equipment: Each dive group must have a state legal dive flag with light mounted on top.

The 34th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show, one of the best and biggest boat shows in the country, is coming up this Thursday through Sunday.

The show will feature more than $1.2 billion worth of yachts and accessories, including hundreds of boats ranging from 8-foot inflatables to super yachts nearly 300 feet in length. In addition to the large selection of boats and exhibits, the show offers fun and educational activities, including free youth fishing clinics by Hook The Future and IGFA School of Sportfishing seminars.

Jupiter’s DuBois Park is home to one of the last remaining historic homesteads of its kind in northern Palm Beach County. The DuBois Pioneer Home is a historic landmark in Jupiter. The home closed in 2008 for an extensive renovation and now the home is open to the public for tours to learn about Jupiter’s history and the DuBois family on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The historic homes was built in 1898 and belonged to Harry and Susan DuBois, South Florida Pioneers. The home is one of the last remaining self-sufficient homesteads in the area and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home also happens to be the second oldest existing home in Palm Beach County.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a program on Tuesday’s aimed for those who want to learn more about science and sea turtles.

The program is called Science for Seniors and is for those 55 years old and older to attend. The program includes Dr. Paul Brown and covers everything from biology and human health to the sea turtle’s biology and health.

The lectures are 1 hour long and those who attend all four sessions will receive a free graduation gift and a tour around the sea turtle rehabilitation center and hospital.

The cost to attend is free and the programs run from January until April. The next Science for Seniors is this Tuesday at 2 pm. Registration is required to reserve your spot, space is limited.

If you live in Wellington, this Sunday the 31st join the Palm Beach Museum of Natural History for a dirt-filled event called “Archaeo Fest” from 12 to 5 pm at the Mall at Wellington Green.

This is the perfect event for kids that love history and dinosaurs. Activities include flint-knapping, atlati throwing demos, necklace making, pottery village, fossil finder labs and more.

Cost is $5 for kids ages 3-12, $8 for kids ages 13 and up and free for children under 2.
