Lighthouse ArtCenter at 373 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, presents the 9th Annual Plein Air Festival with thirty award-winning artists from all over the country. The artists are coming together to compete and capture local scenes through the practice of painting or “En Plein air.” “En Plein Air” is French for “in the open air” which means the process of painting a landscape outdoors.

The theory of 'En Plein Air' painting is credited to Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes (1750–1819). He developed the concept of landscape portraiture by which the artist paints directly onto canvas “in situ” within the landscape.

See these works of art, created by local artisans, thanks to the “Waste to Wonder” exhibit. The exhibit will run through March 26, 2022. The exhibit is located at Resource Depot GalleRE, 2508 Florida Avenue, in West Palm Beach.  The gallery will be exhibiting local artists that incorporate the reuse of materials into various art forms. The space is intended to showcase what artistically can be done with what most people discard and serves as an educational space to remind people what the imagination can accomplish.
