Beginning tomorrow, December 8th, is the second Biennial “Artists of Art Salon” Exhibition at Montgomery Hall Gallery at the Armory Art Center. The exhibit will feature an incredible array contemporary works of art. Artists of different mediums and styles from all over Southern Florida will have their works on display. 

The “Artists of Art Salon” Exhibition has been known to display the best and most “influential” artists from Palm Beach to Miami.  This year, there will be 24 artists from our area displaying their contemporary pieces. Only the best and freshest ideas and trends of contemporary art are displayed during this exhibit.

Come celebrate the start of Hanukkah in downtown Delray Beach on December 12th. A special tradition, the lighting of the first candle on the Menorah will be at sundown on Tuesday (around 5:30 p.m.).

The ceremonial lighting will take place on the grounds of Old School Square Park. It will be held right in front of the famous 100-foot tall Christmas tree. The huge tree is also a tradition in Delray, and it is a festivity for the people in the area. You can walk through the 100-foot Christmas tree and see different scenes like Santa's Workshop, a reindeer barn, and Twas the Night Before Christmas house. Travel & Leisure Magazine has named the tree the best Christmas tree in Florida.

The Holiday Gift Wrapping Suite includes complimentary gift wrapping, cell phone charging stations, and even has holiday movies airing on TV's to entertain the kids (or you) while waiting. The Elliott Museum in Stuart will be presenting a new exhibit called "Art of the Bahamas." The showcase is a collaboration between the Elliott Museum and the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas (NAGB). 

More than 40 paintings will be on display from the NAGB and local artists. The exhibit celebrates the creative spirit of the Bahamas and the diverse visions the beautiful islands have inspired.

The Art of the Bahamas goes on display December 15 and will be in the museum through February. Viewing times are from 5:30- 7:30 p.m.

With the busy holiday season upon us, take some time to de-stress and paint at the farm! Sons & Daughters Farm and Winery in Lake Worth is offering a wine glass painting class for you to use your creative expression and unwind. 

Amanda Hills of Creative Experiences will be hosting a night of painting, chatting, and relaxing at the beatiful farm. Decorate wine glasses with holiday themes or whatever you want! A holiday-time event that is unique to Southern Florida is the Boat Parade. All throughout southern Florida’s waterways local boat owners decorate their vessels with millions of lights to celebrate the holiday season. The glistening boats line up and parade throughout the waterways for local spectators to watch. This year is the 45th Annual Boynton Beach Boat Parade. 

The parade will begin on Friday, December 8th at 6:00pm. “This flotilla of brightly-decorated boats will line up at the Lantana Bridge near Old Key Lime House and motor south along the Intracoastal Waterway to the C-15 canal in Delray. The 3rd annual Martin County Winterfest is back again! A favorite new tradition for locals is to enjoy a day full of family games and fun at the beautiful Indian Riverside Park in Jensen Beach followed by a Christmas movie on the lawn.
