The Els Center for Excellence will cater to about 300 students and is expected to become the "epicenter" for autism research. The $30 million charter school will include four buildings, a swimming pool, a small golfing area, and a running…

After months of discussion and debate, the governing bodies of golf have finally announced the decision to ban the anchored putting stroke. The USGA and R&A, golf’s governing bodies, announced Tuesday morning the addition of Rule 14-1b to the official rules of golf.

anchored_putt_ban_776The new rule will take effect on January 1, 2016 when the next edition of the Rules of Golf is published. The new rule states that players competing under the USGA or R&A rules will no longer be allowed to “anchor” the putter to their bodies in any way. The longer putters will not be banned but once the new rule takes effect, they will not allowed to anchored on any part of the golfer’s body.

Over the next two and a half years, golfers off all skill levels will have the opportunity to adapt…

The TPC Four Seasons was set up for golfers to go low on Thursday morning. Over an inch of rain fell in the Dallas area Wednesday night, leaving the greens soft and giving the players the green light to go for the pins. That, coupled with no win and preferred lies in affect, left the course ripe for the taking in the opening round of the HP Byron Nelson Classic.

That’s exactly what Keegan Bradley did. Going out early in the morning, the Tequesta resident took advantage of the favorable conditions by shooting a course record 60. With a round of 10-under, Bradley tied the tournament record, joining Arron Oberholser and Sam Snead as the only players to ever shoot a 60 at the Byron Nelson Classic. The previous course record at…

Spring Training is just one of the many things that make South Florida a great place to be. Roger Dean Stadium is located in Abacoa and is the spring training home of the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals. In addition to the spring training games, the facility also houses the Marlins and Cardinals Single A minor league affiliates. Between the four teams, Roger Dean Stadium offers baseball on almost a nightly basis for seven months out of the year.

roger_dean_stadium1_3872Not only is it a great form of entertainment for local Palm Beach County residents, it is also a great source of tourism, especially during the months of February and March. With the affordable prices and access to players that most fans can’t get during the regular season, families and fans from all over the…

Going into this week, Tiger Woods has had limited success at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course. Since his lone win on the course in 2001, the Jupiter Island resident had posted only one top 10 win and had not posted four consecutive rounds under par at the Pete Dye designed course since 2003. That was then, this is now.

Woods has already had one of his more successful seasons in the past few years. Playing like the Woods of old, Tiger had already accumulated three victories on tour in 2013 as well as a fourth place finish at the Masters. Despite his early season success, Woods had never been able to get comfortable on the Stadium Course in his career. That, coupled with his three week layoff after the…
