The nature center offers a wide variety of programs and events of adults and children of all ages. Are you traveling this year for the holiday season? Well, you are far from alone.

AAA released their latest holiday travel forecast and they are predicting that 2018 will be the busiest travel season in recorded history. According to their report, a record-breaking 112.5 million people will travel in some capacity this holiday season. That number is 4.4% higher than 2017's numbers, which had been the previous record.

Of those over 112 million people, AAA expects that 102 million will travel via car, while 6.7 million will fly and 3.7 million will travel via another form of transportation (train, bus, boat, etc.). In most major cities, car traffic is expected to increase beginning December 20th.

The holiday spirit is in the air and The Breakers on Palm Beach is doing their part.

Beginning this Friday, December 21st, the resort is doing a series of holiday themed afternoon teas. The holiday teas will take place this Friday and Saturday as well as December 26-29 in the HMF restuarant inside the resort. The 3-5 p.m. teas include a selection of teas, finger sandwiches, pastries and warm buttermilk scones with Devonshire cream, rose-petal jam and preserves. If tea isn't your thing, the HMF will also be offering a full selection of its classic and signiature cocktails for an additional charge.

A new Chinese-American restaurant has opened on Palm Beach and it’s already generating a lot of buzz.

Hai House, located in The Esplanade on Worth Avenue opened in early December and is already getting rave reviews. Found on the second floor of The Esplanade where Costa Palm Beach used to be, the new restaurant features highly regarded executive chef James Strine, whose resume includes executive chef posts at Buccan in Palm Beach and Grato in West Palm beach, plus a decade at Café Boulud in Palm Beach.

As the Downtown West Palm Beach landscape continues to evolve, so do the features that accompany it. That can be seen in the new CityZen Garden that opened this past week outside the Broadstone Apartments.

A collaboration between Sherryl Muriente, her husband Beju, and Finnish artist Marco Casagrande, the new area features a small outdoor amphitheater, a zen garden and several statues. The space was designed as part of the West Palm Beach Art in Public Places program. The program requires developers to either donate to a public art fund or build public art on their site. As a result, the trio worked with the Alliance Residential Company who developed the Broadstone Apartments.

After being closed for renovations, one of the oldest libraries around is now back open. The Gioconda and Joseph King Library at The Society of the Four Arts, which also serves as home of the Palm Beach Library, reopened this past week after some restoration work.

The Four Arts King Library offers a collection of over 70,000 publications, periodicals, DVDs, and other media. While it serves as the town library for Palm Beach, the library welcomes people who don't live on the island through a variety of membership programs. The library offers book discussion groups several times a month along with other events and programs.

Buccan, a staple on Palm Beach known for its inventive small plates prepared with quality ingredients, has been once again recognized by OpenTable by being included on its 2018 list. Buccan has been a hot spot in Palm Beach since chef/co-owner Clay Conley and his partners, including Sam Slattery and Piper Quinn, opened it in 2011. Banyan Cay Resort and Golf Club, formerly President Country Club has secured North Palm Beach resident Jack Nicklaus to redevelop its golf course. Nicklaus will renovate the current 18-hole golf course, turning it into a Nicklaus signiature golf course.

The 245-acre Banyan Cay site, located east of Interstate 95, off Congress Avenue north of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, near the Palm Beach Outlets, is approved for 145 houses, a condo tower and a resort hotel in addition to the golf course and country club. Noble House Hotels & Resorts has been contracted to develop the hotel and country club. Noble House is a national boutique hotel operator with several Florida properties including the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples.
