Cirque Du Soleil: Totem Miami

The 28th show in the Cirque franchise visits South Florida through February 24, 2013.  From the Jupiter or Palm Beach Gardens area, the venue, adjacent to the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, at the Miami-Dade and Broward County line is just 60 minutes away.

The Hobe Sound Festival

The Hobe Sound Festival of the Arts is now in its 12th year and the juried arts festival consists of over 200 sculptors, painters, jewelry makers, iron creators and other talented artists. Artisans from Palm Beach, Martin County and farther come to beautiful South Florida to display their wares. 

Since the early 1920’s, the quiet Atlantic Ocean seaside town was hopeful it would be destined for a life in the arts. Seafood Festival

The Fiscal Cliff

The House approved a Senate bill and our country has avoided the dreaded “fiscal cliff”.  As anticipated the vote, held Tuesday evening, fell along partisan lines, but how does this affect you or your family in 2013?  

The following items are key concerns to most Americans:

-  Income taxes for Americans earning less than $400,000 (joint filers earning less than $450,000) will NOT go up. “Bush-era” tax cuts are staying. 

-  Payroll Tax for Social Security is INCREASING back 6.2% from 4.2%. For every $30,000 earned anticipate taking home $50 less per month (approximately $600 per year).

-  Unemployment has been EXTENDED for a year.

Family Golf in Jupiter  
A 36-hole, family oriented, mini-golf course east of Alternate A1A has been approved by the Jupiter Town Council.  Plans for “Lighthouse Cove Mini Golf” is thought to be a perfect fit for what the town’s Community Redevelopments Agency is trying to create along  A1A between U.S.1 and Jupiter Beach Road.  The owner says the proposed mini golf would be a family friendly place featuring burgers, ice cream, beer or wine.  It’s going to be people getting together and playing mini golf with soft music in the background.

Plans for the proposed “Lighthouse Cove Mini Golf” call for a 20 foot tall lighthouse, waterfalls and 36 holes designed to feature the best of Jupiter’s history and local aquatic life.  It will also feature a 2,000 square foot, two story…

Christmas for the Animals  

Ring in the holidays at the Palm Beach Zoo with exotic animals and breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
