As the Downtown West Palm Beach landscape continues to evolve, so do the features that accompany it. That can be seen in the new CityZen Garden that opened this past week outside the Broadstone Apartments.

A collaboration between Sherryl Muriente, her husband Beju, and Finnish artist Marco Casagrande, the new area features a small outdoor amphitheater, a zen garden and several statues. The space was designed as part of the West Palm Beach Art in Public Places program. The program requires developers to either donate to a public art fund or build public art on their site. As a result, the trio worked with the Alliance Residential Company who developed the Broadstone Apartments.

Tickets are now on sale for the final musical coming to the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach this season as part of the Kravis on Broadway Series. Disney’s The Lion King is hitting the stage on Wednesday, April 24th through Sunday, May 5th.

More than 95 million people have seen the musical throughout the world, and the musical comes to West Palm Beach for the first time. The Lion King has won 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical. After being closed for renovations, one of the oldest libraries around is now back open. The Gioconda and Joseph King Library at The Society of the Four Arts, which also serves as home of the Palm Beach Library, reopened this past week after some restoration work.

The Four Arts King Library offers a collection of over 70,000 publications, periodicals, DVDs, and other media. While it serves as the town library for Palm Beach, the library welcomes people who don't live on the island through a variety of membership programs. The library offers book discussion groups several times a month along with other events and programs.

 West Palm Beach has continued the tradition of their annual Holiday in Paradise event that features the famous Sandi the Christmas Tree made entirely of sand. Sandi the tree is the world’s only 35-foot, 700-ton sand tree with hundreds of lights and sculptures carved into the sand. The South Florida tradition stands in the center of Sandi Land.

Sandi the tree, will be on display in near the water downtown at Flagler Park and will have a nightly light display until December 31st. The tree was lit and kicked off the holiday season during the weekly Clematis by Night Tree Lighting on November 29th.

The themes for this year’s Sandi Tree is Merry the Mermaid and will feature tropical tree carvings and a fun filled tropical scene during the holidays.

Head to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum next Wednesday, December 19th for their reoccurring Lighthouse Sunset Tour. 

Come tour the Lighthouse and see sunset views over Jupiter and the ocean. Guest who attend get to see and witness the Jupiter Light turn on as well as getting a tour of the Jupiter Lighthouse watch room to see how everything works.

Grab your ugly holiday sweaters and come to Harbourside Place in Jupiter this Saturday, December 15th in the afternoon for their annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Crawl.

Check- in will begin at 2 pm until 6 pm in the Amphitheatre where guests will receive four free drink tokens that can be redeemed for an alcoholic drink or beer at any bar or restaurant participating in the event throughout Harbourside until 8 pm. People who attend the sweater crawl will also receive drink specials, exclusive food, a goodie bag filled with gifts.

The outdoor shopping and entertainment center in West Palm Beach host several events throughout the year, including the Nightly Snowfall for the holiday season.

Visitors can come and shop for holiday gifts and get into the holiday spirit while enjoying the snowfall in the center of City Place, right near the big Christmas tree. The snowfall will occur Monday through Wednesday at 6 pm and 7 pm and Thursday through Sunday at 6 pm, 7 pm and 8pm. There will be no snowfall on Christmas Day, December 25th. The snowfall will last until Monday, December 31st.
