Late last month, a new park opened in Jupiter to offer more launch access to the 40,000 recreational boaters in Palm Beach County. Waterway Park is located on a peninsula running 31 acres along the Intracoastal. Amenities include 3 boat ramps, a launch basin, boardwalk, four floating docks, a fishing pier and a restroom facility.
During construction, volunteers planted 35,000 red mangrove seedlings, creating a 1-acre maritime hammock at the end of the peninsula. There are also 11 acres of marsh-grass wetlands set aside as a tortoise preserve which 60 gopher tortoises have been moved to.

Palm Beach County divers take a dive to a 60,000-pound mermaid sculpture reef. This area has many reefs to dive offshore. This underwater landmark honors a local three-time breast cancer survivor. “Andrea's Reef”, an enormous mermaid honoring the courageous woman. “Andreas Reef” has is located just 3/4 miles east off the Lake Worth Inlet, submerged under 75 feet of water. The sculptures for the reef were deployed off Ocean Reef Park on Singer Island, August 11, 2016.

The 32nd Palm Beach International Boat Show is set to take place March 23 - March 26, 2017 in downtown West Palm Beach. The show will feature more than a billion dollars’ worth of yachts, boats and accessories. Hundreds of boats will be on display ranging from inflatables, power boats and sport fisherman to super yachts over 150 feet. The show will feature a wide array of the latest marine technology, accessories, seminars, kids fishing clinics and boat handling classes, live music and fun for all. This Saturday, December 3rd in the evening is a two-hour kayak and paddleboard tour at the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve. The tour begins before dusk so you can cruise leisurely through the Intracoastal Waterway as the sunsets and the stars come out.
On this unique tour of Jupiter’s waterways you will get an upclose look at the Jupiter Lighthouse, mangrove islands, estuaries, and the inlet. You will see an abundance of native wildlife like gentle manatees, turtles, fish, pelicans and sometimes even a dolphin. As the night falls, you will get to stargaze with your naked eye and see all that the Jupiter night sky has to offer.

Calling all fishing enthusiasts or those who want to become fishing enthusiasts now is your chance to get private fishing lessons from expert anglers at the Juno Beach Pier.
The one-hour, private lessons are going to be held every Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The time slots will be 7am, 8am, 4pm and 5pm on these days.
The Juno Beach Pier staff takes great pride in education avid fishermen and women on the environment, local fish species and all of the tricks and rules for catching them.
