Effective January 1, 2020, South Florida motorists must stop texting while driving, unless they want a citation. Florida Statute Section 316.305 now allows law enforcement to stop motor vehicles appearing to be texting and driving and issue citations. The new law also bans the use of smartphone devices in construction and school zones. Drivers can still text while stopped at a red light, or at any point when their vehicle is stationary. Florida has become the latest state to make texting while driving a primary traffic offense, essentially meaning that law enforcement will be able to pull over drivers just for texting and driving.

Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration that is celebrated in Palm Beach County and all around the world with populations of African descendants. It is a holiday which celebrates and honors African culture in the worldwide African community. The Spady Museum in Delray Beach will be hosting a Kwanzaa Celebration, Saturday, December 28.  Kwanzaa arose from the Black Freedom Movement in 1966 in the United States. Start the new year off with a peaceful, casual stroll through a Jupiter untouched natural area known as the Delaware Scrub Natural Area. The 16-acre parcel of land, located at 47 North Delaware Boulevard in Jupiter, was acquired by the Palm Beach County and Town of Jupiter in 2005. Such uncommon natural beauty is rarely seen in developed areas. Despite a little wind and rain, the 2019 Santa Slam Kids Fishing Tournament sold out this past weekend, welcoming 77 junior anglers to fish on the Juno Beach Pier with Santa.

From Hobe Sound to Boca Raton, South Florida families drove from near and far to support this family-friendly event in order to fundraise for ChasN’Tailz Foundation, a local non-profit children's charity funding needy families with very sick children in memory of Chase Warren.
