The Loxahatchee River District’s River Center is enthusiastic so far about the 2nd Annual Jr. Angler Fishing Tournament that has been going on since June and will be continuing until July 11th.

There are lots of young anglers that are submitting their fun fishing photos to the contest that is proven to be one of the River Center’s most popular events! This is a completely friendly competition for anyone between the ages of 5 and 17 and young anglers can participate at any time but points do matter! History enthusiasts and carpenters are assembling the concluding touches to the former Henry Flagler Train Depot as they preparing to open on August 1, 2015 at Sawfish Bay Park in Jupiter, Florida.

The train depot has been re-built out of pine from North Florida, along with diamond shaped shingles and hardware that is very closely related to what was used a century ago. “The work has included gutting the interior, installing a new roof, painting, repairing fire damage, adding a deck and other repairs on the structure that was built in 1915. There was lots of fire damage,” said retired Lantana architect Don Edge, who is among many individuals and companies that donated time and material for the reconstruction of the one-room structure.”

Tennis Star, Venus Williams makes a very special stay in Wellington, Florida last Tuesday to help celebrate the opening of the brand new $5 million tennis facility, The Wellington Tennis Center, off Lyons Road.

The Wellington Tennis Center made its grand opening with the five time Wimbledon champ and 20 year resident of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Venus Williams was greeted by an excited audience of over 200 South Florida residents.

Williams stated that she would like to see more municipal courts in South Florida, calling Wellington’s new center “beautiful” compared to others she has seen. “It has energy about it as well,” she said. “You can see how the community has embraced it.
