The Town of Jupiter and the Village of Tequesta are nestled between Palm Beach Gardens and Stuart. Both areas cater to the outdoor style, as they wrap around the Loxahatchee River and Intracoastal Waterway, which provide incomparable views to residents. For this reason, water sports and boating are abundant. Jupiter and Tequesta also offer their share of championship golf courses and pristine beaches frequented often under consistently sunny skies.

The Jupiter Arts Committee is looking for large-scale painters to come up with a creative idea and paint a mural on the Intracoastal under the Indiantown Bridge. The committee is looking for “an artistic interpretation of our vibrant, growing community, which shall reflect cultural awareness, the natural environment and promote an appreciation for the visual arts.”

The site is 90 x 18 feet over the Intracoastal Waterway, and there's another 110 x 5-foot wall in the Plaza Down Under location. Because the site is near the water, the committee would like the mural to “explore the subject’s relationship with nature and be integrated with the environment and local landscape."

The finalist will be selected in December with the proposal to be approved…

One of the most public additions to the Jupiter scene was Tiger Woods when he completed a $38 million purchase in 2016 of 10 acres of residential property stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway, but 35 PGA…

Grouper caught on a dead sardine bottom fishing for snapper, Photo Courtesy of Reel Intense Fishing

With the mullet run being the highlight of the past couple of weeks, most fishing has been geared toward snook, large tarpon, and amberjack chasing schools through inlets, inshore, on the beach, and at the Juno Pier. Your trustiest bait is live mullet itself, which can be found during low light periods of the day away from boat traffic. If you’re looking for a little more fun in exchange for less reliability, using top water plugs creates some exciting action as snook will strike these much harder, sometimes becoming airborne exploding on the surface.

Reef anglers should be catching some kingfish and snapper this time of year, but this week has…

Jupiter’s beloved local landmark, the Jupiter Lighthouse, was authorized by Congress to be built in 1853, and construction of the tower was completed in May of 1860, with the official lighting commenced on July 10th, 1860. From 1860 to 1939, more than 70 different keepers maintained this 108-foot lighthouse, until the civilian lighthouse service merged with the United States Coast Guard in 1939. Military personnel remained its keepers until it was automated in 1987. The Jupiter Lighthouse remains a treasured local landmark and an active Aid to Navigation, with 1 of only 13 active 1st Order Fresnel lenses in the entire United States!
