Within the city limits of northern Palm Beach County is a treasure known as Frenchman’s Forest Natural Area.  The natural area protects “slash pine flatwoods, live oak hammock, cypress swamp, hydric hammock and tidal swamp and mangrove habitat”. The natural preserve is located at 12201 Prosperity Farms Road, right off Prosperity Farms Road, not to far from the Garden’s Mall in Palm Beach Gardens.  Follow the winding drive to a small parking area and prepare to step backward in time to the old Florida of the first settlers in South Florida.

The Indiantown Rodeo is galloping back into town this weekend. This rodeo has been named one of the top 20 events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. Presented by the Indiantown Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by U.S. Sugar.

The Indiantown Rodeo is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and Women’s Pro Rodeo Association authorized event that features bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and much more fun!

The kids will also enjoy the award-winning kids corral, which is packed full of activities that show local youth to the Agri-business environment. This is a free hands-on, interactive Rodeo experience.

On the third Saturday of every month, a group of volunteers from Blue Friends gather together on the beach for a Saturday morning Beach Clean Up on Juno Beach. 

The Clean Up lasts approximately an hour long and all are welcomed to come and help keep our beaches clean. You are asked to bring a bucket and gloves to help collect the debris and trash left on the beach.

Following the Beach Clean Up will be a light breakfast sponsored by Whole Foods Market in Palm Beach Gardens and Another Broken Egg Café in Jupiter. There will also be complimentary coffee by Oceana Coffee.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is hosting their ultimate fall activity this October. Fletch’s Fall Festival celebrates the changing of the seasons in South Florida.

Join in on the fun filled day to learn about the different impact’s humans have on the ocean and the changing behaviors that would help save our ocean. The goal is to help find a way to reduce our footprint on the environment.

The event is free and is for everyone to come and enjoy. Typically, every ten years the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse undergoes a fresh new coat of paint. The northern Palm Beach County landmark is set to undergo a fresh coat a red paint this October 21st through November 9th.

Crews will be working to paint the 108-foot lighthouse tower for two weeks. During this time, visitors will be unable to climb the 105 steps to the top to see the incredible views. The Lighthouse tower will also be making some necessary changes to their schedule of activities.

Calling all aspiring Scientists, The River Center in Jupiter is hosting their Mad Science Lab Halloween Party this October.

Grab your lab coat and safety googles for a Halloween explosion at the Mad Science Lab’s Halloween experiment. The event will include science demonstrations and experiments, crafts, games, hayrides, Campfire and smores, treat or treating and much more.

Costumes are welcomed and encouraged for the party. The Halloween bash is on Friday, October 18th at 6 pm at The River Center. The cost is attend is $3 dollars per person or $10 dollars per family of four or more.
