Palm Beach, Florida
The Town of Palm Beach is an incorporated town in Palm Beach County separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal waterways and the Atlantic Ocean. The island of Palm Beach is home to many luxurious hotels, mansions, landmarks, restaurants and shopping. In 2018, Bloomberg ranked Palm Beach in the Top 30 of America’s 100 Richest Places.
The island and community was established by Henry Flagler’s two luxury resort hotels, The Breakers and the Royal Poinciana Hotel where movie stars and aristocrats came to spend their time and Palm Beach was considered America’s first resort destination. Flagler himself built in 1902 a Beaux-Arts mansion for him and his wife which they called Whitehall. Whitehall today is known as The Flagler Museum and is open to the public for tours and afternoon tea.
Palm Beach is home to some of the best golf and luxury shopping in the world. The Breakers Hotel is home to one of Florida’s oldest golf courses, the legendary Ocean Course and the Breakers Ree Jones Course which is located off the island in West Palm Beach.
Luxury shops and boutiques can be found along the scenic Worth Avenue, which features stores like Gucci, Chanel, Tiffany and Co., Ralph Lauren, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, St. John, and Jimmy Choo to name a few. At the start of Worth Avenue is the famous Clock Tower that has become a picture destination since it was built. Also, the Royal Poinciana Plaza on the island features great shopping and luxury names like Hermes, Saint Laurent, Alice and Oliva, and Theory.
Palm Beach is home to some of the best and award-winning restaurants in the area such as The Honor Bar, Palm Beach Grill, Buccan, Bice, Café Boulud, Chez L’epicier, and Ta-boo which claims to be behind the first Bloody Mary drink.
