JoJo’s Farmers Market, at Carlin Park, is the brainchild of 23-year-old Riley Burns, whose devotion to wellness and sustainability led her to create the monthly market. The Saturday market was named for her late mother, JoJo, who died of lung cancer in 2006. The loss of her mother inspired her to explore preventive medicine and healing practices.

This upcoming Saturday is the annual Turtleman Triathlon is happening along the beach in Jupiter and Juno Beach. Participants will swim in the Atlantic Ocean, run through the scenic Carlin Park, and ride down the coast with a spectacular ocean view.

The triathlon features two races, the Super Sprint and The Sprint. The Super Sprint includes a shorter run along the water perfect for beginners or, the Sprint includes longer running and swimming distances. The Sprint includes a 600-yard swim, 10-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run. The Super Sprint includes a 300-yard swim, 5-mile bike ride, and a 1.6-mile run.

Major changes can soon be coming to the Downtown Palm Beach Gardens shopping and entertainment center. Last week, Palm Beach Gardens City Officials approved the first reading of two ordinances that could bring an apartment building and a hotel to the shopping and entertainment complex.

The City Officials gave the preliminary approval to a zoning change and a land-use amendment for the 49-acre site. The changes will allow for a mix of uses on the land that is now designated for business buildings. The site’s owner wants a land-use designation change to mixed-use from professional use. The site’s owners are also asking to rezone the property to general commercial and professional office space.

This upcoming Father’s Day weekend, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center will be hosting their 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea. The run is to help raise awareness and raise money for endangered sea turtles and for ocean conservation. This year, the race will be a little different than previous years. The Run 4 The Sea is going virtual, and runners will get to pick its location.

The run, even though virtual, will still benefit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission to promote the conservation of the ocean’s ecosystems with a special focus on endangered and threatened sea turtles. The city of Palm Beach Gardens is planning on building a new sports complex to be built at The Gardens North County District Park next year. In March, City Officials approved the plans to build a new 200,000 square foot facility that will include ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, basketball courts, and other amenities.

Commissioners approved a lease agreement within the city and the non-profit Palm Beach North Athletic Foundation Inc., to build a two-story, 200,000 square foot facility on 17 acres of land within the North County District Park. The Park is home to 82 acres and the foundation plans to raise money to build the new approved facility. Head to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum on Monday nights for their popular and reoccurring Twilight Yoga at the Light. Enjoy the peace and serenity of yoga while enjoying the incredible sunset views over Jupiter.

The yoga class is completely outdoors and is taught by the wonderful Yoga instructor Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck. All levels of yoga are welcomed and encouraged to attend the event. The class costs $10 dollars and all of those who wish to participate are asked to bring their own yoga mat, and their own water bottle.

The class is weather dependent, for updates check out their social media pages or their website. Registration is required prior to the event due to limited space on the Lighthouse Deck.

Registration is now open for the 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea. The 2021 Run 4 The Sea will be going virtual this year. The run is a 4-mile timed race and a kid’s 1-miler at any location of your choosing with proceeds benefiting the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

The 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea is open to all walkers, runner, and hikers of all ages. The race is set to take place on the weekend of Saturday, June 19th. The race costs $40 dollars for adults and $20 dollars for kids. The price includes a sports style participant t-shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a race bib that will be mailed. Local participants can pick up their race packets at the Malted Barley in Juno Beach on Friday, June 18th from 4:30 pm to 7: 30 pm. Race results are uploaded and posted…

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting a few remaining events this April. Head to the lighthouse this week to participate.

Lighthouse Sunset Tour: Wednesday, April 21st at 7:15 pm

Climb to the top of the lighthouse tonight and take in the incredible sunset views over the water and Jupiter. Visitors will also get a change to watch the light turn on and illuminate the sky and get a sneak peak inside the Lighthouse Watchroom to see how everything works. Tours are weather permitting, be sure to check their website for updates. The cost is $25 dollars per person and tickets can be purchased online.
