On select Wednesday’s during the year, Jupiter’s River Center hosts an after-school Science program for kids with Scientist Sam. The program is called Science with Sam and is aimed for children in grades K through 5. Each science class features a different topic.

The topics discussed and activities in the after-school program include garden exploration and hands on opportunities with wildlife. This Wednesday’s event is focusing on Carnivores.

The program is free to attend but those who wish to participate are asked to RSVP to reserve a spot due to limited space.

The Martin County Fair is back for another year this February. The Martin County Fair is the largest single event held in Martin County every year. The weeklong event draws over 70,000 people from across the Treasure Coast for a day of fun.

The fair is celebrating its 61st anniversary this year and has a variety of events planned to celebrate. The fair includes continuous entertainment, live music and dancing, fair rides and games, delicious fair foods, family shows, live demonstrations, friendly competitions, and much more.

The River Center in Jupiter is hosting their second annual Atala Butterfly Festival and Family Day this weekend. Head to the River Center this Saturday for the fun-filled event.

The Butterfly Festival celebrates the Atala Butterfly. The butterfly was once thought to be extinct, but the beautiful butterfly is local here in Jupiter and is thriving right in our own backyards.

The day’s events will include butterfly arts and crafts, a Native Plant sale, Native Plant seed harvesting, Tours of the River Center migratory bird and butterfly garden, and more.

Tickets are available for this weekend’s event and are limited due to space. The River Center is offering two time slots for the event. From 10 am to 11:30 am and from 11:30 am to 1 pm. When

The weekend is finally here, and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting a list of events that everyone can enjoy. Head over to the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center this weekend and join in on the fun.

Public Guided Tours: Offered everyday at 12 pm and 2 pm

Visitors will learn about each sea turtle patient housed there during the tours and the Loggerhead Marinelife Staff will be there to answer all your questions about sea turtles, the ocean, the center itself, and marine life. The daily Public Guided Tours are offered twice a day due to their popularity. The tours are offered at 12 pm and 2 pm and last approximately an hour. Every Thursday morning throughout the month of December, The Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a weekly ArtSea Kids Paint Class. The program is hosted outdoors at the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.

Sign the kids up for this Thursday, December 10th class. Participants will be able to participate in a story time with an ocean conservation theme and will be able to paint their own ceramic ocean friend that they will be able to take home with them at the end of the program.

The ArtSea Kids Painting Class is recommended for children ages three to eight and costs $10 dollars per painter. The program is hosted outdoors under a canopy, so come dressed for the weather.

The Town of Jupiter is once again releasing a Winter Activity Box for kids and families to bring the holiday spirit to everyone’s homes. The town’s recreation staff are working hard on filling up this Winter Activity box with crafts, treats, art projects, cooking projects, and an activity booklet to match the winter theme.

Boxes can be purchased online or at the Jupiter Community Center. The Winter Activity Boxes will be on sale starting Monday, December 7th and can be picked up at the Community Center during normal business hours. Be sure to grab your Winter Activity box early before they sell out for the season.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting a Lighthouse Story Time and Crafts for Kids event this Tuesday, November 17th.  The event is aimed for children ages 8 years old and younger.

The event is a virtual program, and the stories and crafts will feature information on Florida’s history, Lighthouse Keepers, people, and local animals and plants.  The program is free to watch virtually on the Jupiter Lighthouse Website, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube Channel.

The event is set to begin at 10:30 am tomorrow morning. Craft instructions and information is already posted on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram for tomorrow’s session.

Every day the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts several events for the public to learn more about the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center and marine life. On Saturday mornings, the center hosts a Kids Fishing Program aimed for children ages 8 through 12.

Participants in the Fishing Program will learn the techniques and tricks to fishing from the Juno Beach Pier. The program will teach and explain the concepts of fishing, casting, fish handling, knot tying, and the proper catch and release techniques.  The program will also include information on how to be ethical anglers and reduce their impact on marine life.
