Celebrate this Earth Day with a Nature Walk hosted by The River Center in Jupiter. Gather your hiking gear and head to the Pine Glades Natural Area this Thursday, April 22nd for a Nature Walk on Earth Day.

The hike will include walks along the guided paths of the natural area. The hike will include journeys on both unpaved and paved terrain. Those interested in participating in the hike are encouraged to wear closed toed shoes, long pants, comfortable clothing, and bring plenty of water. Bug spray and a flashlight are recommended.

The Town of Jupiter is always looking for ways to help our town and our environment. Recently, Town officials have installed four clean up station at four local parks to help nature and the environment by reducing the amount of litter and debris.

Jupiter has partnered with the Beach Bucket Foundation as part of their 2021/2022 Strategic Plan. The mission of the Beach Bucket Foundation is the create awareness and community involvement in helping the preservation of our beaches and ocean.

The Gardens Mall has partnered with the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to present a new exhibit coming to the mall beginning this week. The exhibit is called ‘Out Of This World’ and is an “interactive imagination immersion above and beyond”.

The exhibits is set to open on the first floor of The Gardens Mall near Saks Fifth Avenue this Friday, April 16th. The exhibit will be open to the public in Palm Beach Gardens until May 16th. Admission is by donation with all proceeds benefiting the charitable partner, Give Kids The World.

The popular after-school program Science With Sam is back this week at The River Center in Jupiter. On select Wednesdays during the month, the center hosts the after-school program for student’s grades K through 5th grade.

The program is aimed for students that are interested in learning and in science. Each Science With Sam program has a different theme and all feature different science activities such as hands-on learning opportunities with wildlife and garden exploration.

The 7th annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival is back this weekend and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is excited to bring this year’s event to you. This year, the event will be completely virtual and can be viewed and enjoyed from the comfort of your own home.

If you are looking to refresh your landscaping or just browse through gardens, the Mounts Botanical Gardens of Palm Beach County is hosting their annual Winter Plant Sale this weekend. More than 40 vendors have joined in to participate in the event and will be scattered throughout the gardens.

Come shop a wide range of shrubs, trees, plants, garden accessories, and fine crafts. The Nursery and Vintage Thrift Shop will be open during the Winter Plant Sale and features a great variety of plants and unique items for the home or garden.

Tickets are required for the event and cost $10 dollars in advance ($5 dollars per child) or $12 dollars at the gate ($5 dollars per child). Your ticket is good for either Saturday or Sunday.

The River Center in Jupiter is hosting their second annual Atala Butterfly Festival and Family Day this weekend. Head to the River Center this Saturday for the fun-filled event.

The Butterfly Festival celebrates the Atala Butterfly. The butterfly was once thought to be extinct, but the beautiful butterfly is local here in Jupiter and is thriving right in our own backyards.

The day’s events will include butterfly arts and crafts, a Native Plant sale, Native Plant seed harvesting, Tours of the River Center migratory bird and butterfly garden, and more.

Once thought to be extinct, this beautiful butterfly is local and flourishing in our own backyard. 

The Atala is a small colorful butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in southeastern Florida, the Bahamas, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, and on other Caribbean islands.
