Today is Cinco de Mayo and as we head out to our favorite bars in Palm Beach County for Margaritas, one should remember the “real deal” on Cinco de Mayo. After Hernan Cortez and his Spanish army conquered the Holy City of Cholula, Mexico one October day in 1519. The Spanish conquistadors ravaged the Aztec holy city that day. The explorers murdered 10% of the native population and destroyed many of the pyramids that marked the sacred region. But they never found the largest pyramid of the region which was before their very eyes. Over the centuries, interest to carve out an empire of the land spread.

Atop a high hill sits a magnificent church and beneath this church, buried for centuries, lay an ancient secret never discovered by the Spanish.  The…

Treehouse is highest point in Palm Beach County to see Palm Beach and the downtown West Palm Beach skyline.  It is located at the Hilton Hotel in West Palm Beach.  A nighttime view from the tallest rooftop in town is perfect for special occasions with a loved one, family, or friends. It is very special at the onset of sunset, overlooking downtown.  Sunset is the perfect time for a toast.

Canopy’s rooftop bar, Treehouse, is poolside on the top of the 13th floor. Treehouse will serve lighter bites and shareable plates with a local Florida and Caribbean cuisine theme.  The concept is for it to look like nature is reclaiming the building. There is a six-story green wall, and it appears to look like the concrete and the stucco is broken by the roots…

Palm Beach County is not immune to allergy season.  Some allergists recommend you start taking meds a couple weeks before allergy season arrives, or, at the latest, take them the moment you begin having symptoms. Taking them early can stop an immune system freak-out before it happens, lessening the severity of symptoms, he adds. Check out the National Allergy Map to figure out when to start taking meds depending on where you live.

As for which allergy meds to take, if you are seriously stuffed, start with steroid nasal sprays such as Flonase or Rhinocort, which reduce inflammation-induced stuffiness and if you have got itching, sneezing, and a runny nose, too, look for non-sedating antihistamines such as Zyrtec, Xyzal, or Allegra.
