The second annual Roots and Ruts Off Road 5K and Family Fun Run is back again and will be happening this Saturday, April 24th.  The Els for Autism Foundation started the event to raise awareness and to celebrate April Autism Awareness Month.

The event will take place at the North Jupiter Flatwoods, the first certified autism-friendly trail in Florida. The trail will serve as both a fundraiser to support Autism Awareness and to celebrate the strides our community has taken and continues to take to bring awareness and acceptance.

Celebrate this Earth Day with a Nature Walk hosted by The River Center in Jupiter. Gather your hiking gear and head to the Pine Glades Natural Area this Thursday, April 22nd for a Nature Walk on Earth Day.

The hike will include walks along the guided paths of the natural area. The hike will include journeys on both unpaved and paved terrain. Those interested in participating in the hike are encouraged to wear closed toed shoes, long pants, comfortable clothing, and bring plenty of water. Bug spray and a flashlight are recommended.

The Wellington Bacon and Bourbon Fest is back again this year by popular demand. The festival will be held at the newly constructed Town Center Promenade this upcoming weekend. The festival will feature two of the most powerful words beginning with the letter B. Bacon and Bourbon will be everywhere.

The event will feature more than 60 artists and crafters, a giant menu of bacon infused culinary dishes, and a collection of over 40 rare bourbons and whiskeys. Every week, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts several events for the public to learn more about sea turtles and the center’s rehabilitation and research efforts through their sea turtle hospital and rehabilitation center. The events are open to the public and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is one of northern Palm Beach County most popular attractions. On Saturday mornings, the center hosts a Kids Fishing Program aimed for children ages 8 through 12.

During the program, the younger fishermen will learn the basic techniques for fishing from the Juno Beach Pier including knot tying, casting, fish handling, and the proper catch and release techniques. Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is hosting a kid’s cooking class this weekend. The What’s Cooking With Miss Nancy cooking class is back this Saturday and Sunday for multiple sessions.

Gather all the little bakers in the family and head to the Downtown Park for a cupcake decorating class with Miss Nancy and ‘Shell-ebrate the Ocean’. The class includes a cooking demonstration and a chance to decorate your own cupcake like a crab.

The Town of Jupiter is always looking for ways to help our town and our environment. Recently, Town officials have installed four clean up station at four local parks to help nature and the environment by reducing the amount of litter and debris.

Jupiter has partnered with the Beach Bucket Foundation as part of their 2021/2022 Strategic Plan. The mission of the Beach Bucket Foundation is the create awareness and community involvement in helping the preservation of our beaches and ocean.

On select Saturdays and Sundays, The River Center in Jupiter teams up with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” to provide Boating Safety Classes targeted for young boaters in our community. The class is aimed for young boaters, but all boaters are welcomed to join and learn more about the safety on the water.

The classes are taught in a lecture style and the classes are provided to the community through a generous sponsorship by the AustinBlu Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and promoting educational programs to enhance boater safety.
