For the entire month of May, the Palm Beaches is dedicated to celebrating art and culture in the county. The art and culture series is called MOSAIC and is happening this May. MOSAIC stands for Month of Shows, Art, Ideas, and Culture and everyone is invited to participate and enjoy special discounts and deals at many Palm Beach County attractions.

MOSAIC is put together every year by the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. The council was formed in 1978 and since then has evolved to be a strong, multifaceted local arts advocate.

Martin County is home to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The Florida State Park sits between Palm Beach County’s Tequesta and Martin County’s Hobe Sound, and just a few miles north of Jupiter. The park is named after a Quaker merchant named Jonathan Dickinson that wreaked his boat off the coast in 1696.

The park’s area served as an Army base and home to Camp Murphy during the second World War. Today, the barracks are still visible throughout the park.  Following the war, in 1947 the land was transferred back to Florida to be used as a state park. Jonathan Dickinson State Park officially opened to the public in 1950 and is one of the area’s most visited parks.

The Town of Jupiter has decided to continue to bring Jupiter U to the residents and community by going virtual this year. Jupiter U includes a series of short films and tours of Jupiter’s landmarks and areas throughout Jupiter.

The tours highlight the important facts and aim to educate the residents about their local government and our unique beach town. The virtual tours are available for the public to watch on demand now. The tour videos can be watched in any order but recommended that the first video be the welcoming video with Jupiter’s Mayor Todd Wodraska. In the welcoming video, the Mayor gives an overview of the program and provides updates for the ongoing and upcoming projects happening in Jupiter.

Recently, the Town of Jupiter has added and installed clean up stations at local parks to help the environment by reducing the number of debris and litter in our town.

The project is part of Jupiter’s partnership with Beach Bucket Foundation. The mission of the project is to create awareness and community involvement in helping the preservation of our local beaches and ocean. The town’s council identified clean up areas and more activities along the waterfront and local parks as one of their initiatives this year.

Waterfront Properties has sponsored clean up buckets at four local clean up stations. Visitors can grab a bucket from the station and help pick up litter and debris while they enjoy the park or walk along the beach. Once the bucket is…

Every day the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a Public Guided Tour for chance for the public to get a tour of the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.  The tours are offered at several different times each day, and on select Monday nights, the center hosts a Public Guided Tour Hospital Edition.

The Hospital Edition offers a special behind the scenes access tour inside the sea turtle hospital. Guest will get to see where the sea turtle patients receive treatment and will learn about the different causes of the patients injuries. During the tour, light bites and refreshments will be provided.

There are only three concerts remaining this April at the Downtown Palm Beach Gardens. The outdoor shopping, entertainment, and lifestyle center hosts a weekly concert every Friday and Saturday night in the Centre Court.

The bands and groups performing features a diverse lineup of local and regional bands playing every musical genre. The outdoor concerts are free to attend, and all are welcomed to dance and sing along with some of the greatest hits.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting a few remaining events this April. Head to the lighthouse this week to participate.

Lighthouse Sunset Tour: Wednesday, April 21st at 7:15 pm

Climb to the top of the lighthouse tonight and take in the incredible sunset views over the water and Jupiter. Visitors will also get a change to watch the light turn on and illuminate the sky and get a sneak peak inside the Lighthouse Watchroom to see how everything works. Tours are weather permitting, be sure to check their website for updates. The cost is $25 dollars per person and tickets can be purchased online.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach has added a new event to their calendar this week. Join the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center and their biologists on a local kayaking excursion and explore the diverse coastal ecosystems of Florida.

Kayakers will learn about the local flora and fauna as well as gain insight into the importance of the delicate ecosystems in our waters and our community.
