The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, located at 1451 South Olive Avenue, is currently closed for renovations.  The renowned museum which has been moving toward its $100 million capital goal, made a big leap with a $16 million donation from philanthropist, seasonal Palm Beach resident and self-made hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin.

It comes as no surprise to the art world that Mr. Griffin enjoys collecting art.  However, when Griffin  spent $500 million in February 2016 to buy two paintings by Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock he not only made waves in the art market, it was a tsunami!  Because of the donation, the museum will honor Mr. Griffin's name on the new 59,000-square-foot wing, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect…

Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday in May.  It was formerly known as “Decoration Day” and it commemorates all men and women who have died in military service for the United States of America.  Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day and it is known as the informal start of the summer season!

This Memorial Day weekend try something that involves beach, fun and sand.Peanut Island, the 80-acre tropical island located at the west end of the Palm Beach (Lake Worth) Inlet. Each afternoon the 'Flamingo Experience' at the Palm Beach Zoo offers clientele an intimate encounter for just $35 a person.  A maximum of eight guests are escorted into a sequestered feeding area where the Chilean Flamingos come out to meet their fans. Touching the elegant birds is not encouraged, but the flamingos can touch you with their nares. Obviously, they don't have hands so they check out the everything with their mouths.

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the incredible Flagler Museum is taking place this Sunday from 3 to 5pm. 

This magical, holiday event features stunning performances of the piano, the organ and an incredible caroling choir. The carolers will be singing holiday classics in the courtyard while the tree is being lit. Seasonal dishes and cocktails will be served to all. Even Santa Claus will be present, greeting the little ones and taking Christmas list requests. An iconic symbol of Floridian and American History and glamour is the Flagler Museum of Palm Beach. It is one of the most renowned homes in Florida. In the early 1900’s, Henry Morrison Flagler as a wedding gift to his wife built in the incredible manor and named it Whitehall.
