Amazon is coming to the Gardens Mall. Beginning today, September 16th, Amazon customers can buy toys, books, kitchen gadgets, electronics and more at their new 4-Star store.

The giant online store is set to open its doors in the Gardens Mall for its first general merchandise store in Florida at 11 am. The store is located on the first floor near Nordstrom’s of the popular Palm Beach Gardens mall.

The new 4,500 square foot Amazon store will carry everything that received a 4-star rating or greater on their website. Products include everything from electronics, games, books, toys, home goods, kitchen items and much more. Signs of fall are coming to Palm Beach County. Although the weather is still warm and sunny, fall activities are getting ready to open.

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket is preparing to return to the West Palm Beach waterfront this October for its 26th season. The popular GreenMarket is a fall centerpiece for downtown West Palm Beach.  On Saturday mornings, hundreds of people and vendors line the streets and display some of the best local produce and homemade goods.

The theme for this year’s market is “Lettuce Shop Safely” and due to the current conditions and health and safety guidelines, social distancing will be strictly enforced. The GreenMarket will start this October 3rd and run every Saturday until mid-April. Admission is free with vendor…

Traveling to and from the West Coast to South Florida is about to get easier. Palm Beach International Airport announced recently that JetBlue has plans to add a direct flight from Palm Beach International Airport to Los Angeles, California.

JetBlue announced Thursday, that they will be offering non-stop daily flights between Palm Beach and Los Angeles starting in November. The first direct flight will be beginning on November 19th and will depart LAX at 8 am PST and arrive in West Palm Beach at 3:52 pm EST. Currently the average flight time from Los Angeles to South Florida is around five hours.

The East coast to West coast flights will depart PBI at 5 pm EST and is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles at 8:33 pm PST.

Located on one of Palm Beach Island’s most exclusive streets, The Flagler Museum is one of the most visited attraction in Palm Beach County. The grand estate, formally known as Whitehall, features more than 100,000 square feet filled with some of the most important Palm Beach history.

Lion Country Safari located in western Palm Beach County is Florida’s only drive through and walk through safari as well as an amusement park in the entire state. The safari is located on more than 600 acres of land that over 1000 animals from all six continents throughout the safari’s seven different sections.

The safari was founded in 1967 and claims to be the first cage-less zoo in the United States. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is a popular destination for locals and visitors. The iconic red lighthouse sits on top of a midden shell mound on the northern side of the Jupiter Inlet. The location was chosen in 1853 when Congress authorized the construction of the lighthouse tower. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is located between the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse to the north and the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse to the south.  This year the Lighthouse celebrated its 160th Anniversary in July and had a huge celebration to celebrate the milestone.

Living in South Florida has its many benefits and for some, boating is a popular activity that happens every day. Since 2010, the state of Florida requires that any person who wishes to operate a vessel with more than ten horsepower or more and is born after January 1st, 1988 must complete and pass a boater safety course.

The state does not have a “Boating License” but a Boater Safety Identification Card stating that the course is completed and a successful score on the end of the class exam. Florida’s Boater Identification card is valid for life and no renewal fee’s or course renewal is required. The state and course instructors ask that you review your notes and keep up with the latest boating rules and regulations.

Back to School shopping has begun and this weekend only, the state of Florida is having a Sales Tax Holiday for Back To School clothes and supplies.

For this weekend only, Friday, August 7th through Sunday, August 9th, qualifying items will be exempt from sales tax in the state of Florida. These items include:

  • School supplies selling for $15 dollars or less per item
  • Clothing, footwear, and certain accessories for $60 dollars or less per item
  • The first $1,000 of the sales price for personal computers and certain computer related purchases for noncommercial home or personal use.

The Back To School Sales Tax Holiday will be accepted at any store in the state that offers these supplies and will be automatically deducted at check out.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting several Lighthouse Sunset Tours this month. The Lighthouse reopened to visitors two months ago and their event calendar features a mix of events and tours.

On Wednesday nights during the month of August, the lighthouse hosts their weekly Lighthouse Sunset Tour. Visitors climb to the top of the Jupiter Lighthouse and witness the speculator Jupiter summer sunset and views of the town.

The tour includes a sneak peak inside the Lighthouse Watchroom to see how everything works and you’ll even get a chance to watch the light turn on to light up the sky. The tours last approximately one hour and tickets are required.

Tickets cost $25 dollars per person and $20 dollars for Lighthouse members. Tickets can…
