Summer is just around the corner and summer in South Florida brings warm temperatures and sunshine, but summer also brings the start of Hurricane Season. Hurricane Season begins in the Atlantic Ocean on June 1st and last until November 30th.  Luckily for us here in South Florida, we have managed to avoid hurricanes and tropical storms for the past several years, but its always smart to think ahead and start preparing.

The state of Florida is currently under a Hurricane Tax Holiday until Sunday, June 6th. From now until Sunday certain supplies that are essential to hurricane preparedness are tax free. During this time, shoppers can avoid paying sales tax on these items.

The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is now home to the Dinosaur Revolution Exhibit. The exhibit opened at the South Florida Science Center this April and visitors will be able to check out dinosaurs at the exhibit until the end of November.

The exhibit features a giant Maze Adventure, role-play activities, Mesozoic Missions spanning over 150 million years, and much more. Become a junior paleontologist and search for clues and evidence of dinosaur activities and learn more about dinosaurs.

This year, South Florida residents can celebrate and have fun at the South Florida Fair twice this year. The mini South Florida Fair was held earlier this year in January and now the annual big fair is being held this May. The South Florida Fair rolls into the Fairgrounds beginning this week, May 7th through May 23rd.

The fair has been a popular event every year in Palm Beach County. Residents from all over the state come to the area to enjoy the fair and fair foods. The theme for the fair this year is ‘An Earthy A-Fair’. The theme was chosen because on April 22nd marked the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the fair wanted to emphasize the importance of the day and the planet.

The Wellington Bacon and Bourbon Fest is back again this year by popular demand. The festival will be held at the newly constructed Town Center Promenade this upcoming weekend. The festival will feature two of the most powerful words beginning with the letter B. Bacon and Bourbon will be everywhere.

The event will feature more than 60 artists and crafters, a giant menu of bacon infused culinary dishes, and a collection of over 40 rare bourbons and whiskeys. Music venues got the okay to reopen and concerts and musical events will be returning to West Palm Beach this June. The iThink Financial Amphitheatre (formally The Coral Sky Amphitheater) will soon be welcoming musical guests and concert goers.

Shows and concerts are scheduled to start this summer beginning in June. The concerts will begin with reduced capacity of 75% or 15,000 people and new this year, all tickets will be digital and contactless.

Tickets are on sale now for the upcoming concerts and music events coming to the iThink Financial Amphitheatre.

The annual Festival of the Arts BOCA is back again for another year this March. The extraordinary, multi-day cultural arts event is in its 15th season and the festival promises to be unlike any festival they have ever produced.
