Cruise ships are a key point of Southeast Florida tourism and hospitality, however the pandemic has rocked the boat. With ports in Palm Beach down to Miami, the local cruise industry has been impacted in a big way. The change is a big win for the Florida cruise industry, which has been shuttered completely since March.

Cruise stocks rose Friday after the CDC announced it will replace its nearly 8-month old no-sail order with a less restrictive “Conditional Sailing Order.” The no-sail order has been in place since mid-March due to the coronavirus, but will expire on Saturday night and not be extended, the CDC said.…

Halloween is upon us, and nothing could be scarier than what 2020 has doled out already, COVID19. No worries for sunny South Florida.  Social distance candy distribution for Halloween 2020 has not gone to the birds, it has gone to sports nuts! This year the simple act of trick or treating and handing out candy has become complicated and as such people are adjusting on how they plan to celebrate the holiday.

SHOOTING HOOPS:

This is more for you than the kids. The best part: It requires no equipment. Basically, you shoot the candy like you are Michael Jordan and the trick or treaters try to catch it in their pails and pillowcases.

TENNIS:

Grab that tennis racket and depending on the age of the ghost or goblin, lob that Three Musketeers bar…

In early 2020, the Martin County Golf Course began renovations to the course and a name change. The new course is now called “Sailfish Sands” and the new course is going to be bolder, innovative, and more unique, nothing like any other course in Martin County.

Earlier this week, the Martin County Parks and Recreation Director announced that he went before the County Commission to update them on the progress of the massive project and to ask for additional funding. In the spirit of Halloween, here's a Jupiter ghost story on the Loxahatchee River. The tale of the haunted spirit of Trapper Nelson reportedly haunts the tranquil inland waterways of the Loxahatchee River running through Jupiter and Tequesta.  Years ago, in the early 1930’s until the late 1960’s, a strapping "casanova" known as Trapper Nelson made quite an impact on the area and the local area socialites!  He was nicknamed the “Wildman of Loxahatchee”. The ghost is said to roam Jonathan Dickinson State Park to this day.

Trapper Nelson lived deep in the wild, uninhabited land on the Loxahatchee River (which is now Jonathon Dickinson State Park).  He was born in New Jersey and his given name was Vincent Nostokovich. This man was the modern day “Croc…
