The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is seeing a massive number in leatherback sea turtle nests along the beach. Sea Turtle Nesting Season starts in March and continues until the end of October. 

The nearly 10 mile stretch of beach that the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center monitor has counted to date 69 nests, which is significantly more than normal for this time of year.  Each nest usually contains roughly about 100 eggs that require 45 days to 60 days to hatch. 

Juno Beach is one of the largest sea turtle nesting locations in the world. The main reason why Juno Beach is the most populated sea turtle nesting location is because of the close proximity to the Gulf Stream current that bends towards Florida.

The Florida Department of Agriculture has recently launched a new website earlier this week to help the local farmers and growers during this time. 

The new website is named Keep Florida Growing and announced in their social media page that the website is a portal that provides agriculture related information and food information.  Agriculture is the second largest economic driver in the state and the website was created to help out our local community and our local Florida growers and farmers.

The new one-stop page is aiming to bring Floridians’ and food producers together to buy and sell fresh produce, share state and federal resources and helpful information to keep Florida growing.

Two gardens in Palm Beach County are going virtual for tours and online classes and demonstrations.  The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens and the Mounts Botanical Gardens are going completely virtual for you to enjoy the peace and serenity of the gardens from the comfort of your own home. 

The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens is planning the following online sessions. There will be a total of three online sessions led by Minx Boren, a master certified coach and author. Boren has teamed up with the Sculpture gardens and Zoom and will host three one-hour sessions. The sessions are free to attend and will begin at 11 am and advanced reservations are required. Southeast Floridians are all grateful for the medical workers who are risking their lives to treat people during the coronavirus pandemic. BP Petroleum is another corporation helping the heroes on the front lines. The oil producer and convenience store operator will provide up to $2 million in free coffee, fountain drink or hot dogs and fuel discounts to first responders, nurses, doctors and hospital staff as they fight to help communities healthy and safe.
