The annual Winter Equestrian Festival starts this January at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington. Wellington is the home to the world’s premier winter equestrian event every year.

Each year participates range in age from 2 years old to 70 years old and more than 6,000 horses compete for more than a half a billion dollars. The Winter Equestrian Festival starts in early January and ends in late March. During the course of the three months, the festival is the longest and largest running horse show that sees some of the best riders of their class. Riders come from all 50 states and more than 52 countries and feature adult amateurs, juniors, children and Olympians.

The Palm Beach International Polo Season started this December 29th and last until mid-April 2020. Thousands of equestrians and Polo lovers flock to Palm Beach County’s Wellington every year to see some of the best Polo matches in the world.

Wellington is known as the Equestrian Capital of the world and the most popular destination for the Equestrian lifestyle. The Palm Beach International Polo Club and the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center are both located in Wellington.

The Palm Beach Hot Air Balloon Festival is here and is heading to the International Polo Club in Wellington this week. This Friday, November 29th through Sunday, December 1st head to Wellington for the 1st ever Hot Air Balloon Festival.

The festival will feature some of the best food vendors, retail vendors, family activities, tethered balloon rides, and of course hot air balloons glowing at dusk. The festival is a rain or shine event.

Tethered Balloon Rides can be booked in advance and is $30 dollars per person. Tickets can be purchased online or at the festival. All guests who wish to experience a hot air balloon ride must sign a wavier at the Wavier Desk and will be given a token at check in.

This June, Wellington is hosting a series of Food Truck events, Free Outdoor Movies and Free Concerts on Thursday’s through Saturday’s. Wellington is known as the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World and is home to the International Equestrian Community featuring more than 57 miles of trails for horseback riding.

This weekend the weather is supposed to be in the 80’s with a little chance of rain and what better way to spend your Thursday, Friday or Saturday night then outside enjoy live music by some of the best local and tribute bands. This weekend there are several outdoor music events going on in Palm Beach County.

The Wellington Amphitheater is hosting their free weekly concert this Thursday night, May 16th at 6:30 pm. Wellington is known as the Equestrian Winter Capital of the World and on Sunday’s, the International Polo Club hosts a Polo match now until April. Every Sunday socialites, local and international celebrities, friends and family gather at the Polo field to watch some of the world’s greatest horses and athletes compete in world class tournaments. 

Polo is horseback mounted team sport and is known as one of the world’s oldest team sports. The game is played by two opposing teams whose main goal is to score points by hitting a small ball using a long-handled mallet across the field through the opposites team’s goal.

The 2019 Palm Beach Masters is the ultimate horse show and features three events between January and March. The Master series features international show jumping combined with a social scene to bring the horse shows to the next level. The three events take place at the Deeridge Farms in Wellington.

This year, the series has added another new event, called the Nations Cup which includes eight nations competing against each other, similar to the Olympic Games format.

The Deeridge Farms is a 300-acre facility that has been in the Jacobs Family for more than four decades. The main focal point of the farms is its exquisite grass fields and their state-of-the-art arena, perfect for all weather conditions.

The sport came to the United States in the 1950’s and the first polo club opened in 1954 in Palm Beach, nearby where the airport is today.
