Over the next two nights starwatchers can see one of the most spectacular meteor showers in plain sight from Jupiter. The Geminids meteor shower has been in full force this week but the next two nights is when it will be at its peak.  

So, what exactly are the Geminids? The Geminids meteor shower is a unique celestial occurrence that happens when the Earth’s path encounters an asteroid. Most meteor showers come from comets, which give off a beautiful display of bright heads of the comets raining down with a tail of dust, ice and rock. But with the Geminids meteor shower coming from an asteroid, those of us watching from earth will see what looks like a fireworks display in the sky.

Come see the children of the Atlantic Coast Theatre perform the winter story of the Snow Queen. Kids level K-5 will we presenting a cute, funny, musical rendition of the fairytale adventure. The Snow Queen was written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen in 1845 and has been an everlasting tale and the inspiration behind Disney's hit movie Frozen.

In the story, Gerda must save her friend, Kai, who has become enchanted and can see no good in the world. Gerda seeks help from a talking and singing crow, the notorious and comedic, Robber Prince, and a Reindeer Herder, as they try to save Kai from the mysterious Snow Queen.

Holiday shoppers might be in luck, looking to buy the newest technology and latest gadgets this holiday season. After several months of renovations, Apple has finally released the date of the reopening of the Gardens Mall location.

The store has been closed since March of this year to undergo extensive renovations. The store is still going to be located in the same location on the first floor of the mall, but has expanded into the shop next door. By expanding from the 6,000-square foot store to an 8,300-square foot store, this location in the Gardens Mall will be the largest Apple store in Palm Beach County.

The Sunset Social Farmers Market will be taking place every Thursday evening this month at City Place in West Palm Beach and include musical performances. This Thursday, enjoy music presentations from local Palm Beach County students.

Join Gumbo Limbo Nature Center for a marine feeding and Sea Turtle Talk this Friday!

Gumbo Limbo's  outdoor marine aquarium is filled with tons of fish, sharks, sting rays, and other aquatic life. Watch these fish get fed and see their behaviors.

An educational lecture will be presented while the feeding is going on. Learn about connections between mangroves and reef fish species, fish in their habitats, and more. This fascinating presentation will take place at 12:30 p.m.

Explore the center and stick around for the turtle talk at 2 p.m. and discover the sea turtle rehabilitation program at Gumbo Limbo. More than 100 turtles were taken care of last year, and you can meet the current patients and hear their stories.
