Replicas of Christopher Columbus’ Ships the Pinta and the Nina are coming to Harbourside Place in Jupiter for a week. Starting Friday, March 29th through Sunday, April 7th the ships will be docked at Harbourside Place for tours.

The Nina replica was built by hand and is considered to be the most historically correct and accurate replica of Columbus’ ships. The length of the ship is 65 feet long and the beam is 18 feet wide. Columbus sailed the Nina across the Atlantic Ocean on three voyages to the New World in 1492. Today, the replica is a floating museum and visits ports all over the Western Hemisphere.

This Saturday, March 23rd, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center will host its 16th Annual TurtleFest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is a great event for Palm Beach residents of all ages, especially those interested in local wildlife and marine ecosystems.

Spring Break season is upon us in Palm Beach County. The Palm Beach County School District starts their Spring Break on Saturday, March 16th and the students return back to school on Tuesday, March 26th. Throughout the county there are plenty of activities going on around to keep busy.

Abby’s Performing Arts Coaching: Spring Break week is also Celebrity Week at the Performing Arts school and students who attend will learn to sing, dance, and act as their favorite celebrities. The Single Fin Showdown is an annual surf and skim festival held in Stuart. Last year, the Showdown attracted 150 competitors and 1,500 festival spectators. “Single Fin” means that contestants in the event ride 60's and 70's Single Fin Shortboards (provided) for the shortboard divisions and any board 9' and up for the Longboard divisions. 

The Single Fin Showdown is the perfect for families and those interested in watersports like surfing and skimming. The event is meant to bring the surfing community together, and what started in 2009 with a small group of surfers riding vintage single fin surfboards for bragging rights, has evolved into one of the largest one-day, amateur surf and skim festivals in Florida.
