Jerry Garcia was the lead singer and lead guitarist for the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in the San Francisco area. The Grateful Dead have sold more than 35 million albums worldwide. Known for their psychedelic and varied inspirations, the band became known as “the pioneering Godfathers of the jam band world”.

Florida shoppers will get a three-day back-to-school tax holiday. Each year prior to the start of school the Florida Department of Revenue schedules a Sales Tax Holiday weekend where items for back to school are not subject to sales tax. This year’s Sales Tax Holiday will kick off Friday, August 5 and end Sunday, August 7.  Throughout the weekend, Floridians will be able to purchase specific school supplies, clothing and footwear without paying state and local sales taxes. The tax exemption applies to specific items of clothing and footwear that cost $60 or less, as well as certain school supplies that cost $15 or less. Witness a very rare opportunity; observe a sea turtle hatchling release.  Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is one of Florida’s unique non-profit educational and entertaining destinations dedicated to ocean and sea turtle conservation. Their vision is, “to be recognized locally and internationally as the leading authority in sea turtle education, research, and rehabilitation.”

It is located between Riviera Beach and North Palm Beach. John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is named for its previous owner, the philanthropist John D. Lobster mini season is a highly anticipated event every year. When the official mini season kicks off, the coastal areas of Florida are flooded with lobster hunters trying to get their share of the bounty.
