Imagine a palm-studded island with a perfect sandy beach surrounded by warm tropical Gulf Stream waters. Peanut Island is an 80-acre island at the mouth of the Lake Worth Inlet in Palm Beach County. The island was created by dredging-related projects in 1918 which also created the inlet and the Port of Palm Beach. Originally named Inlet Island, the island was renamed Peanut Island for a planned peanut oil-shipping operation which was unsuccessful in 1946. This tropical island has been a favorite spot for locals for many years and attracts explorers of every type. The pier offers visitors 990-feet of amazing saltwater fishing and breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset. The full-service Pier House features friendly guest services, snack bar, and fishing tackle including fishing pole rentals, bait and ice.
