While it might not have taken place on the PGA Tour, Rory Mcllroy is a champion and major winner in 2013. After going winless on both the PGA and European Tours in 2013, Mclrroy decided to head "Down Under" to try and change his luck, competing in the PGA Tour of Australia's Australian Open.

Entering the day four shots back of home town hero Adam Scott, the Palm Beach Gardens resident shot a 6-under 66 to beat Scott by one stroke and spoil Scott's chance of winning his home country's triple crown.

"I wanted to get a win and finally I've been able to get one," McIlroy said. "But more satisfying than that is being able to take one of the best players in the world down the stretch and come out on top."

Mcllroy eagled the seventh and birdied the…

Although she came up short at the LPGA Tour's season finale, Palm Beach Gardens resident Stacy Lewis did enough to lock up the Vare Trophy for low scoring average.

Lewis finished in a tie for sixth at the CME Group Titleholders with rounds of 71, 73, 63, and 71. As a result, the Medalist member finished with an average of 69.484 strokes per round which was good enough for the low scoring average on the LPGA Tour in 2013. By winning the Vare Trophy, Lewis became the first American to win the award since Beth Daniel in 1994.

"As Americans, we hear about that all the time -- it's been 18 years or it's been 20 years or whatever it is," Lewis said. "I'm just glad to have that kind of checked off the list. We've got to get American golf on the map.…

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse

The Jupiter Town Council decided to postpone the decision on the 800 –parking space garage on Parkway Street and A1A, not far from Jupiter Inlet Colony, until December 3.  An email was sent stating “the postponement will allow the Town to investigate some of the issues and considerations raised by residents and businesses.

Some of the issues raised during the meeting included whether or not the town had considered all possibilities for alternate locations for the parking garage.  A concern was beachgoers, using the Parkway Street garage, for nearby Dubois Park, and how would that be managed?  Had the one level of underground parking on U.S. 1, known as Piatt property, been considered?  What was happening with the Town owned parking lot on Love…
