The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is hosting their monthly Nights At The Museum event on Friday, June 28th. The monthly event occurs on the last Friday of each month.

During the night, guests of all ages are welcomed to enjoy the extended hours to explore the Science Center and Aquarium. Every month the theme is different and this month the theme is Jungle Safari which will feature animal encounters, interactive games, exhibits, planetarium shows, arts and crafts, animal adoption activities, and your chance to see the night’s sky from the only public observatory in Palm Beach County.

This Saturday, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their reoccurring Turtle Walks on Juno Beach. The Turtle Walks are a unique program that allows guest to learn about and observe the nesting process of a sea turtle.

Turtle Walks are led by the Loggerhead Marinelife Staff who will patrol the designated section of the beach while searching for the sea turtles. Those who attend the Turtle Walk will get a after hours look at the current patients in their outdoor sea turtle hospital. Once a loggerhead sea turtle is found by a staff member on the beach, you’ll be led down to the beach to witness the experience.

The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center was founded in 1984 as a unique cooperative project by the city of Boca Raton., Florida Atlantic University, The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District and the Friends of Gumbo Limbo.

During 2018, more than 200,000 visitors visited the Nature Center and enjoyed a walk on their boardwalk, saw the thousands of tropical fish in their aquariums, attended one of their many events, visited the Butterfly Garden, or saw one the sea turtle patients in their rehabilitation center.

The Gumbo Limbo Center Nature Center focuses on environmental education, research and conservation and provides a protective barrier island to many plants, animals, and Marinelife, many are endangered.

Tomorrow, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is planning on releasing another healthy sea turtle back into the ocean. The Center will release Bovenizer off Juno Beach tomorrow morning.

Bovenizer is an adult male loggerhead patient that was found in the Florida Power and Light’s intake canal in Port St. Lucie. The turtle was underweight and was brought to the center in Juno Beach in April for medications and treatments. Last week, Bovenizer was cleared to be released back into the ocean and has gained weight.

Roar and Pour is back for the summer at the Palm Beach Zoo. On the last Saturday of the month from May to August the entire zoo is open to explore after hours.

The event starts at 4:30 pm, with the summer grill severing burgers and hotdogs starting at 5 pm. There will also be live music from local tribute bands, and a tiki bar serving beer and wine.

The next Roar and Pour event of the summer season is Saturday, June 22nd, an Absolute Elton John Tribute Band will be performing all his greatest hits. The band plays on the stage from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.

Guests who attend are welcomed to bring chairs and blankets to sit back and enjoy the music and food. Guests can leave their chairs and blankets near the fountain plaza while you explore the zoo.

For the entire summer, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their Evening Guided Tours on Tuesday’s through Friday’s. The program was added to their calendar last year and has been extremely popular.

The Evening Tours gives visitors the ultimate experience during a special after-hours tour of the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center. The tours are led by an experienced member of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s staff.

The tour will be led through the exhibit hall to learn about the different sea turtle species and the various types of Marinelife found in the ocean. Jupiter is home to one of the very few dog beaches remaining in the State of Florida and the only one in Palm Beach County. In 1989, the Town of Jupiter adopted the policy to allow dogs on the beaches in Jupiter. Since the policy was adopted, the town expanded the initial area to now a 2.5 mile stretch of beach.

The Jupiter Dog Beach stretches from marker #25 at Marcinski Road going north to marker #59 on the south end of Carlin Park. Dogs are allowed to roam free in the designated area of the beach and must be supervised at all times.
