Lighthouse Sunset Tour: January 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th

Wednesday evenings, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their popular Lighthouse Sunset Tour.  Climb the 105 steps to the top of the lighthouse to take in the incredible views and sunset. Visitors will also get an inside look at the Lighthouse Watchroom and even get a chance to see the light turn on and illuminate the sky. The tours last approximately an hour long and registration is required due to limited space. The cost is $25 dollars per person…

The Town of Jupiter has a rich historic timeline filled with stories. Tales of the area ranging from the ancient Indians, Tequesta Tribe, that lived here until the European discovery of the area by Ponce de Leon. The Seminole Indian War battles fought here.  Jupiter’s earliest known records date as far back as 1565.  After early settlers set up homesteads, the waterways were a huge source of transportation, as well as the new Flagler Railroad.

Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is bringing back their outdoor concert series on Friday and Saturday nights this January. The weekly concerts are free, and everyone is welcomed to attend.

The outdoor concerts feature a diverse musical lineup of regional and local bands playing everything from country, pop, jazz, rock, and everything in between. The concerts take place in the Center Court.

Before or after the concert, make sure to check out one of the several restaurants located at the Downtown for something to eat. The Village of Wellington just celebrated a milestone birthday over the holiday weekend. The village was incorporated on December 31st, 1995 and this year marked its 25th anniversary.

Festivities occurred over the weekend at Green Park and the village leaders did everything they could to ensure everyone’s health and safety. Visitors remained in their cars for a socially distant firework display to help celebrate the village’s 25th anniversary and to help ring in the New Year.

It seems 2021 is starting off strong, in celestial phenomena at least.  The Town of Jupiter seems to draw a lot of confusion with our planetary namesake of Jupiter.  Lest one not confuse our beautiful, seaside Town of Jupiter to planet Jupiter. Let us recall with the epic celestial meeting of Jupiter and Saturn for the great conjunction, and a once-in-a-lifetime comet, 2020 was a big year for celestial phenomena. NASA calls one of the “best annual meteor showers,” will peak from January 2 into January 3,. According to the International Meteor Organization the peak of the Quadrantid meteor shower should be visible in our area night sky this weekend.
