The Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium located in Jupiter’s Abacoa is hosting a few Minor League Baseball games this upcoming weekend. The first game begins tonight at 6:30 pm. 

The Roger Dean Stadium is home to two Palm Beach County Minor League Baseball teams, The Palm Beach Cardinals and The Jupiter Hammerheads. The stadium is a popular attraction during Spring Training when the two Major League Teams, The Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals hosts their Spring Training here in Jupiter.

This Saturday, the Town of Jupiter is hosting their Annual 5K Turtle Trot at Ocean Cay Park along A1A for its 30th Anniversary.

The 5K Turtle Trot has been a hometown tradition for many runners as well as for visitors, first time participants, and families. The course is out and back 3.1 miles along the beautiful Jupiter beach. The race begins and ends in Ocean Cay Park where participants will enjoy post-race music, delicious continental breakfast items, complementary massages, and much more. All race finishers will receive a medal and a free t-shirt. Accuchip will manage the timing and scoring for all participants.

The Jupiter Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area (JILONA) Act was introduced into the US Senate designating the lighthouse and the 120 surrounding acres of Outstanding Natural Area (ONA) into the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management National Landscape Conservation System. Many people confuse Cinco de Mayo as Mexico’s Independence Day, but Cinco de Mayo is the day that Mexico defeated France in the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862.
