The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is open 7 days a week and hosts a series of events throughout the week. The iconic red lighthouse has been part of Jupiter’s history since its construction in 1853.

Here is a list of the events happening at the Lighthouse this month.

Twilight Yoga at the Light: Monday February 11th, 18th, and 25th
Come and join in on the ultimate yoga class outside underneath the stars and lighthouse. Mary Veal will be teaching yoga at sunset every Monday at 6 pm. The classes last approximately 1 hour, and all are welcomed to attend. Guests are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and a flashlight. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their Family Adventure Day series on Saturday, February 16th from 10 am to 1 pm.

Family Adventure Days are part of the Lighthouse’s new series that is aimed for families and features family activities, sea-inspired and educational events, and adventures about Florida’s history. Next Saturday the event will be featured around Keepers and Life Savers. The day will include arts and crafts, games, story-telling, hands on activities and water and rescue demonstrations.

The Village of Tequesta is located in Northern Palm Beach County along US Highway 1 and to the West of Jupiter Inlet Colony and the North of Jupiter. The quite village is surrounded by the blue waters of the Intracoastal Waterways and the Loxahatchee River.

Tequesta is named after the Tequesta Indians and was formed in the 1950’s as part of one man’s dream that was center on the Tequesta Country Club. But over the years the Tequesta has become a wonderful waterfront community for everyone.

It's understandable since the average daily temperature reaches 70 degrees Fahrenheit and it is a popular destination for a break from the blistering cold up north. Fishing is a popular activity in South Florida. Whether you’re a beginner or have been fishing for years, the waterways of Jupiter and the Loxahatchee River provide an ideal spot for a large variety of inshore and offshore fishing along the 380-mile intercostal waterways of Florida. Some of the fish included Speckled Sea Trout, Jacks, Redfish, Snook, Pompano and the seasonal Tarpon, all found in the waterways along Jupiter.

Both the northern and southern jetties of the Jupiter Inlet have massive schools of Redfish and Snooks, that Jupiter has been labelled the “Snook Capital of the World”. You can look for Snook feeding off minnows and shrimp at night near lighted areas near the waterways.

The Everglades National Park is located within a 2.5-hour drive from Palm Beach County. The National Park is considered to be one of Florida’s most cherished state park. In August 2018 the park turned 96 years old and is the third largest park and third largest tropical wilderness in the country.

Nestled between Jupiter and North Palm Beach, Juno Beach is home to a laid-back atmosphere and a beautiful sandy coastline. Juno Beach is located on a barrier island between the Intracoastal waterway and the Atlantic Ocean.  Martin County locals know when it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy the bountiful fresh air. It’s happening at the 13th Annual Port Salerno Seafood Festival this Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 10:00am- 8:00pm.  The festival assures us that “the fish is fresh, the beer is cold, and the smiles are always warm!”. 

The seafood festival began as a neighborhood fish fry and dock party along the waterfront of Port Salerno.  The Port Salerno community was amid a revitalization chapter during 2006.   A small group of concerned locals met at a fish fry hoping to bring positive awareness to the area’s historic commercial fishing trade and gather support for the community.
