FISHING IS HEATING UP in SOUTH FLORIDA!

May is here and bringing in the heat along with warmer water temperatures!

Offshore- The big bite happening offshore this week in South Florida is definitely kingfish, averaging in at 30-50 pounds. In the range of 100-200 ft. of water, the best bait to use if you are trying to target these silver kings are live goggle eyes or sardines. However, if you prefer trolling the offshore waters, break out your downriggers and run a split tail mullet or artificial ribbonfish to attract the fish’s attention.
Dolphin and Wahoo are in a little deeper of 200-350 ft. of water and anglers may have to work a little harder to find these fish at these depths and some reports say dolphin are in much deeper as 800-1200 ft.  Mix up your bait spread a bit with natural and…

North Palm Beach Golfers Wins U.S. Open Qualifier at Willoughby Golf Club

North Palm Beach resident Clancy Waugh shot an 8-under par 64 on Monday at Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart to earn Medalist honors and advance out of the Local U.S. Open Qualifier.

The Benjamin High School grad and current Wake Forest golfer earned himself a trip to the June 8th 36 hole Sectional Qualifier at the Bear's Club in Jupiter as the low medalist.

For Waugh, it's a little bit of redemption after a less than stellar sophomore season with the Demon Deacons. After being named Freshman Athlete of the Year and becoming only the 11th Wake Forrest golfer in win a tournament last year, in 2015, Waugh had finished no better than 40th and just a week ago missed qualifying for NCAA regionals by one shot.

OFFSHORE- “The best action offshore right now is (for the most part) inside of 200' of water from Palm Beach to Jupiter Inlet.  The kingfish showed up in big numbers this week (as did the commercial fishing fleet) off of Jupiter Inlet.  Drifting live sardines and threadfin herring is the ticket for catching the kings right now, but in a pinch or as a backup a dead sardine on a knocker rig will usually get the job done.” As you are drifting offshore, there could be some late season sail fish and potential to hook up on blackfin tuna. Jack Nicklaus Has Hole-In-One at Masters Par 3 Contest

For golfers, a hole-in-one is kind of the holy grail of the sport. It's something we all achieve for but is almost impossible to actually achieve.

Don't tell that to Jack Nicklaus.

Competing in the annual Masters Par 3 Contest on Wednesday with playing partners Gary Player and Ben Crenshaw, who filled in for the still injured Arnold Palmer, the North Palm Beach resident recorded a hole-in-one on the fourth hole after hitting his shot 15 feet past the hole and watching it spin back and in the cup.

Making it even more special was the fact that it was the first time Nicklaus ever recorded an ace at Augusta National in any facet. Before yesterday he had never done it in a recreational, practice, or tournament round.

THE CONSERVATORY SCHOOL OF NORTH PALM BEACH

Newly re-opened in August, with a new building, new grade level span and even a new name, is The Conservatory School in North Palm Beach. The private, charter school offers a state of the art, LEED Gold Certified campus designed with only the best amenities in mind. 

The new campus was designed and built by architecture firm, Harvard Jolly. Wildlife Officials say to Look out for shorebirds in South Florida

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are asking all beachgoers to keep a look out and do your best not to disturb the shorebirds on the Atlantic coast of Florida.

During spring and summer, shorebirds are beach nesting; they tend to build nests with layers of sand and sea shells found on the beautiful resourceful beaches of South Florida. Due to their camouflage, hatching chicks, as well as the nest and eggs, are challenging to see with possibilities of being trodden on such as birds like the black skimmer, snowy plover and American oystercatcher and more. 2015 Florida Swing Full of Excitement

Another Florida Swing has come and gone, and as has been so many times in the past, those four weeks featured some of the most exciting golf of the 2015 season. When you break it down, the Florida Swing took place over four weeks, in four different Florida cities and featured two playoffs, an unscheduled Monday finish, two tournaments being won on the 72nd hole, a club toss, a Bear Trap, Snake Pit, and Blue Monster, oh yea and the likes of Arnold Palmer and "The Donald" himself. Dustin Johnson Sets Shadow Creek Course Record in Las Vegas

Dustin Johnson has had a good go of things lately.

He sold his house on the Loxahatchee River and boght a new waterfront house on the Intracoastal in the new Frenchman's Harbour community in North Palm Beach. He and his fiance Paulina welcomed their first child back in January, a son named Tatum. Johnson also went out and won the WGC-Cadillac Championsip at Doral, the second stop in the Florida swing. He then came back this weekend and managed a T6 finish at the Valero Texas Open despite having back luck with weather the first two days being in the early-late draw at TPC San Antonio.
