On October 19th, a friend of Kristin Deaton of Jupiter, Florida was in town visiting after the unexpected passing of her mother, and accidentally dropped a very sentimental ring into the intracoastal at the marina behind U-Tiki Beach.

This Orange Cinnamon Smash is the perfect Florida cocktail with a taste of Fall. Enjoy! 

Ingredients

1 Cinnamon Stick

1/2 teaspoon Orange Zest zest of half an orange

60 ml Whisky

30 ml Orange juice

Soda or sparkling water to top it up

1-2 Orange Slices

Instructions

Break the cinnamon stick into pieces and add them to a shaker. Add orange zest and juice and muddle it up. Add whisky and orange juice and shake it.

Registered voters in the State of Florida have the opportunity to vote a few weeks early ahead of the 2020 Election. Early voting in Florida opens Monday, October 19th through Sunday, November 1st.  Hours and dates may vary based on where you live.

Early voting is when a person casts a ballot prior to Election Day at a location designated by the Supervisor of Elections. Early voting is required in any election that contains a state or federal office race. Early voting sites must be no earlier than 30 days prior to the election.

How to Vote Early:

Important news for Florida drivers, you will soon be able to access your driver’s license on your mobile device. Earlier this week, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles announced that Floridians will be able to access their drivers licenses digitally.

The new system will allow someone to verify your age, identity, and driving privileges through a mobile app, making digital licenses harder to counterfeit.  The system is part of an innovation project that will make Florida a national leader in offering secure and trusted mobile identification, which is the priority of Governor DeSantis.
