The Palm Beach International Polo Season started this December 29th and last until mid-April 2020. Thousands of equestrians and Polo lovers flock to Palm Beach County’s Wellington every year to see some of the best Polo matches in the world.

Wellington is known as the Equestrian Capital of the world and the most popular destination for the Equestrian lifestyle. The Palm Beach International Polo Club and the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center are both located in Wellington.

The holidays are a delightful time with lots of celebrations.  The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is partnering with Palm Beach County Law Enforcementto share the message and remind the public about the dangers of drunk driving. 

This New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019, law enforcement will participate in the high-visibility national enforcement campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”. During this time, local law enforcement will show zero tolerance for drunk driving. Increased state and national messages about the dangers of driving impaired, coupled with enforcement and increased officers on the road, aim to drastically reduce drunk driving on our Palm Beach County roadways.

Two restaurants in Palm Beach County have made the list of the “Top 100 Restaurants in America” List for 2019. Palm Beach County was the only county in Florida to have two restaurants make the list.

OpenTable, the online reservation making, and review website conducted a survey which included 27 states. The newly released list includes Palm Beach Island’s Buccan and Krave located in Tequesta. The two local favorites are among 7 restaurants in Florida that have made the list.

The Historic Jungle Trail winds for nearly 8 miles along a sandy road through the hammock habitat of Florida's barrier island north of Vero Beach in Martin County. The trail, really a hard-sandy road, and it is on the National Register of Historic Places.

 Effective January 1, 2020, South Florida motorists must stop texting while driving, unless they want a citation. Florida Statute Section 316.305 now allows law enforcement to stop motor vehicles appearing to be texting and driving and issue citations. The new law also bans the use of smartphone devices in construction and school zones. Drivers can still text while stopped at a red light, or at any point when their vehicle is stationary. Florida has become the latest state to make texting while driving a primary traffic offense, essentially meaning that law enforcement will be able to pull over drivers just for texting and driving.

Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration that is celebrated in Palm Beach County and all around the world with populations of African descendants. It is a holiday which celebrates and honors African culture in the worldwide African community. The Spady Museum in Delray Beach will be hosting a Kwanzaa Celebration, Saturday, December 28.  Kwanzaa arose from the Black Freedom Movement in 1966 in the United States. Despite a little wind and rain, the 2019 Santa Slam Kids Fishing Tournament sold out this past weekend, welcoming 77 junior anglers to fish on the Juno Beach Pier with Santa.

From Hobe Sound to Boca Raton, South Florida families drove from near and far to support this family-friendly event in order to fundraise for ChasN’Tailz Foundation, a local non-profit children's charity funding needy families with very sick children in memory of Chase Warren.
