It’s a wreck out there – a shipwreck!  A couple hundred feet off the Delray Beach Municipal Beach lies the “S.S. Inchulva”.  The ship went down in the historical hurricane of 1903. This sunken steel-hulled freighter has become a very popular diving location in South Florida, and it is excellent for the beginner diver. The nearly 400-foot freighter rests in only 25 feet of water and is a great dive or snorkeling spot.

 The "S.S. Inchulva" set sail from England in July 1903, bound for Galveston to receive a shipment of agricultural products. In what became its final voyage, the ship left Galveston Sept. 6 with a cargo of wheat, lumber and cotton. Every Monday evening, The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their popular Twilight at the Light yoga event. The event takes place at sunset at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum’s grounds.

All are welcomed to come and join in on the serenity of the yoga class taught by Mary Veal of Breathe Salt Yoga in Jupiter. The class is taught on the Lighthouse Deck at begins at sunset approximately at 6 pm.

If you plan on attending, please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle and a flashlight to the class. The outdoor yoga class is weather dependent, check their website for updates if weather is bad. Due to the popularity to the event, you are asked to arrive early and meet 10 minutes prior to the classes start time at the Museum’s Flagpole.

This weekend, the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter is hosting three Preseason Baseball games for everyone in the family to enjoy.

The Roger Dean Stadium is the only one of two stadiums in Florida to host two Major League teams during their Spring Training. The two Minor League Teams include the Jupiter Hammerheads and the Palm Beach Cardinals. The stadium in Jupiter is home to the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins Spring Training.

For the past thirteen years, The Honda Classic Golf Tournament has been played at Palm Beach Garden’s PGA National Resort and Spa. Recently, the popular PGA Tournament has been named the “Most Fan Friendly Event” in 2019. The award was presented to The Honda Classic Golf Tournament at the PGA Tour’s Annual Meetings.

PGA National Resort and Spa has been the home to the golf tournament since 2007 and the tournament is back in Palm Beach County this February. Head to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum on Wednesday nights for the Lighthouse Sunset Tour.

The Lighthouse Sunset Tour includes a climb to the top of the lighthouse tower to see the spectacular sunset views of Jupiter and the surrounding towns. Visitors will also get to see the Jupiter Lighthouse Light turn on and illuminate the sky and get to go inside the lighthouse watchroom to see how everything works.

This February, there are two remaining tours left for this month. The tours last approximately 75 minutes and children are welcomed to attend and must be 48 inches tall to climb the lighthouse tower’s 105 steps with an adult. The Sailfish Challenge is leg two of a 3-leg sailfish tournament series called Quest for the Crest which attracts elite billfishing teams from all over the globe to South Florida. A $2 million purse in the midst of peak sailfishing season provides for a highly competitive layout, and teams go all-in to become deemed the #1 sailfishing team in the world.

February 19-23, the Sailfish Challenge will be hosted from three checkpoints- Government Cut in Miami, Hillsborough Inlet in Pompano Beach, and Palm Beach Inlet in Palm Beach.
