Get ready for the 5th Annual Palm Beach PaddleFest is back this weekend. The family-friendly event is taking place at Harbourside Place in Jupiter.

The Paddlefest event features two timed races with cash prizes and trophies for the winners. The event will also feature a kid’s SUP race, free kayak eco-tours, Yoga, an exhibitor expo, face painting, live music, and much more.

The Paddlefest caters to both new and experienced paddle boarders. There are going to be two types of races, a 2-mile race and a longer 6-mile race. Each race will be made up of 6 categories for both men and women. The categories include SUP12’6, SUP 14, Prone (All), OC-1, OC-2, Surfski Single, Kayak and Other. This exclusive two-day tournament will take place during peak sailfish season in South Florida. With a maximum line class of 12-pound and strict adherence to IGFA Angling Rules, the IGFA Light Tackle Invitational is a genuine “angler’s tournament,” and a platform for light tackle anglers from around the world to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their reoccurring Jupiter Climb and Paddle event this January.

The adventure starts with a climb to the top of Jupiter’s iconic red Lighthouse to see the incredible views of Jupiter and the waterways. To climb the lighthouse tower, you must be able to climb the 105 steps to the top.

Following the lighthouse tour, the Jupiter Outdoor Center will guide visitors by paddleboards and kayaks through the waters of the Jupiter Inlet and nearby waterways. Past events, visitors have often seen manatees, sea turtle, birds and other wildlife along the tour.

The River Center in Jupiter teams up several times a year with the United States Coast Guard for a Boating Safety Class. The safety class is aimed to promote safety on the water and when operating a boat. The class is aimed for children, teens and young adults but all are welcomed to attend.

The class is taught by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flortilla 52” in a lecture style class. The State of Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation requires that any person wishing to operate a vessel of 10 horsepower or more and is born after January 1st, 1988 must complete and pass a boater safety course.

Monday’s The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their Twilight Yoga at the Light event. The popular event takes place once a week at sunset.

Come and enjoy the serenity of Yoga with Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck. All levels of Yoga are welcomed to attend. The class begins at 6 pm on Monday and last approximately an hour.

If you plan on attending, you are asked to bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, and a flashlight to the class. The class is weather dependent and meets at the Museum’s flagpole 10 minutes prior to the class start time.
