The holidays are a delightful time with lots of celebrations.  The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is partnering with Palm Beach County Law Enforcementto share the message and remind the public about the dangers of drunk driving. 

This New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019, law enforcement will participate in the high-visibility national enforcement campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”. During this time, local law enforcement will show zero tolerance for drunk driving. Increased state and national messages about the dangers of driving impaired, coupled with enforcement and increased officers on the road, aim to drastically reduce drunk driving on our Palm Beach County roadways.

The Historic Jungle Trail winds for nearly 8 miles along a sandy road through the hammock habitat of Florida's barrier island north of Vero Beach in Martin County. The trail, really a hard-sandy road, and it is on the National Register of Historic Places. 

The historically significant trail was built in the 1920’s so that South Florida citrus growers could haul their produce up and down the barrier island.  The pathway ranges from Wabasso to the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge. The Honda Classic has been named the “Most Fan First Event” on the PGA Tour at the Annual Best Awards event this year. The Fan Friendly award was presented to The Honda Classic Golf Tournament that is held in Palm Beach Gardens every year.

The Honda Classic tournament made its move to Palm Beach Gardens PGA National Resort and Spa in 2007 and this is the second time the tournament was recognized by the PGA Tour for its excellence in fan engagement. Head to Jupiter or Tequesta for the 43rd Annual JTAA Jupiter Tequesta Christmas Parade. The holiday parade is rolling into town on Sunday, December 8th.

The annual parade is hosted by the JTAA Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association. Every year the holiday parade is a certain theme and this year the theme is “A Cartoon Christmas”. The parade will be led by this year’s Grand Marshall Edna Runner. Edna is the Executive Director of the Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children by promoting education.

There is a daily golf clinic offered every day at the Abacoa Golf Club 10 AM to 11 AM. The Instructors at the Abacoa Golf Club cover a variety of topics including Full Swing with Irons, Hybrids, Fairway Woods or Driver and Short Game skills including Putting, Chipping, Pitch Shots or Bunker Shots.

This Saturday, November 30th, Florida residents and visitors have the chance to fish without the need for a saltwater fishing license. If you’ve been wondering what all the buzz is about, but you haven’t had the chance to purchase your fishing license, grab pole and some tackle from one of the many local tackle shops in the area and give it a shot.

This day is part of eight total license-free fishing days the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission offers each year when anglers are not required to have a fishing license to participate.
