FISCAL CLIFF DEAL…WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU and YOUR FAMILY

The House approved a Senate bill and our country has avoided the dreaded “fiscal cliff”.  As anticipated the vote, held Tuesday evening, fell along partisan lines, but how does this affect you or your family in 2013?  

The following items are key concerns to most Americans:

-  Income taxes for Americans earning less than $400,000 (joint filers earning less than $450,000) will NOT go up. “Bush-era” tax cuts are staying. 

-  Payroll Tax for Social Security is INCREASING back 6.2% from 4.2%. For every $30,000 earned anticipate taking home $50 less per month (approximately $600 per year).

-  Unemployment has been EXTENDED for a year. 

-  Child Tax Credit has been EXTENDED.  

-  Research and Development Tax Credit EXTENDED.

-  Tuition Tax…

WARREN BUFFET predicted it… HOUSING RECOVERY FIRMLY TAKING ROOT!

Last year Warren Buffet predicted, we will come back big time on employment when residential construction comes back.” According to the H.U.D. and U.S. Census Bureau there was a 5.7% increase in the number of newly built single-family homes in the United States.  This is the fastest pace since April of 2010, when first time homebuyers hurried to take advantage first time homebuyer tax credit opportunities.

More than 1600 students a year are touched each year by the ART COUNCIL of MARTIN COUNTY.  They provide a wide variety of programs that benefit the community through the arts.  The Council believes that educating the youth of the community about art is vitally important to their creativity and thusly strengthening their leadership skills and aiding their academic development. 

The ART COUNCIL also teams up with Martin Memorial Hospital and encourages of the advantages of art helping heal hearts, minds, and bodies.  They have assisted Alzheimer’s patients, along with arts therapists, in the adult care program.

Sign up now for the PALM BEACHES MARATHON & RUN FEST.  $20.00 from your marathon race entry will be donated to Hurricane Sandy Relief and Recovery Efforts.  You must register between November 4th and November 30th for a portion of your race entry fee to be donated to Hurricane Sandy Relief and Recovery Efforts.

NOVEMBER BALLOT’S LONGEST IN SOUTH FLORIDA HISTORY!

Are you prepared to vote in the upcoming November 6, 2012 elections? This November’s ballot is the longest in South Florida’s history.  Part of the reason is that there are 11state constitutional amendments on the ballot.  Some of proposed amendments are quite lengthy and complex. Floridians should be prepared and know what they are voting in favor for or against in regard to these controversial amendments.
