The Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches releases statistics of all aspects of residential and commercial sales in our area.   The organization released the following statement:

“The second quarter of every year is historically the busiest quarter of the entire real estate season; however due to a recovered economy, the second quarter of this year has set a brand new precedent in the single family homes category.  Townhomes and condos also had a strong showing, but inventory isn’t high enough to produce record setting closed sales.  The high demand to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth is also driving average and median sale prices up for single-family homes as well as townhouses and condos. “

The raw speed and pack mentality is what makes Wahoo so popular. Wahoo are capable of speeds up to 60 mph, they have teeth as sharp as razors and they fight hard! They also rate A+ on the grill. Add all these factors together and you come up with a species that deserves your desire. Are you ready to set your sights on wahoo? Then take note of some wahoo-catching tips gathered by local anglers in South Florida.

Rig up your wahoo baits with several feet of single strand 80-120 test wire leader. Use the right colors on the rubber skirts when you rig the large ballyhoo, wahoo are very color specific in their preferences. These fish gravitate towards red/black and purple/black combinations.

Wahoo like to cruise around weed lines and attack the fish from below.…

The Wildlife Foundation of Florida encourages everyone to purchase a fishing license, one of the most effective ways to invest in Florida's future. The $17 fee for a fishing license is really an investment that keeps fishing alive and well in Florida. The fee goes directly to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), which is required by law to use those dollars strictly for fishing programs.

There is a New TrophyCatch website called “I Do” Campaign. Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) staff was at the world largest tackle trade show, ICAST, when it came to Florida, the “Fishing Capital of the World” in July. ICAST attracted 11,000 plus attendees, all of whom were professionals involved with recreational fishing. Fishing in Florida…

A beachy bungalow reveals plenty of personality and a relaxed laid-back vibe.  However, it can mean much, much more than just living by the beach.   Enchanted coastal living encompasses a way of life – blue skies, sunshine, wonderful beaches, and happy, healthy people.  People living a better lifestyle in a pleasant environment.

What does waterfront living mean to you?   Is it a custom-built enchanted beach bungalow from the ground up or a snazzy condominium overlooking bright blue Atlantic Ocean views?  Possibly, a magnificent estate overlooking the wide water of the Loxahatchee River or a private, gated waterfront country club community might be your idea of living on the water’s edge.

“Coastal living” is just a tag line after all.  You do…

Fishing Report 8.15.14

OFFSHORE:
Wahoo- the beautiful, tasty, and lightning-fast ocean fish have been showing up in good numbers around Palm Beach and Broward County. Wahoo’s are plentiful in Florida waters this time of year, with the best bite always occurring around the full moon in August. The greatest chance for a wahoo good time is to fish early morning or evening time of the day. Whether you are trolling (high speed and slower speeds) or live baiting for the wahoo be sure to try and get the bait down suspended below the surface, this will help get the baits down in the wahoo’s zone and will help keep a Bonita or two away.
If you are looking for a…

The population of the Jupiter area was 145. In 1905 Reverend Dr. Charles P. Jackson started an elementary school for the children of Neptune (Jupiter).  Neptune was the designation for the area and the post office along the Florida East Coast Railroad.   Lighthouse keeper, James Armour, opened the Jupiter Post Office during 1884.  After three years of inactivity, Mary Moore Carlin reopened the Post Office in 1887 at the Jupiter Lifesaving Station, where her husband, Charles Carlin was the keeper.

The good people of this area converted a lifeboat from the battleship U.S.S. Maine and it served as a “school bus” for the children.  Later a ferry service across the Loxahatchee River transported the children until a bridge replaced it in 1911 when a…
